Actually with your quick to paint big brush strokes mentality, it's you that's truly the fearful one.

1) soldiers are not law enforcement, nor are security guards, nor armored truck drivers. Guess those three are all quivering in their little boots when you walk up to the scene...

2) many people do live in areas where they are now marked because although they aren't quite 'rich' they are known to have more than the rest of their neighbors. In some areas, these neighbors will attempt to take by force what they want and know the police could give a cr@p about it.

3) Criminals are sissies? Hmm I don't understand, nor how punks are sissies?

Anyways how are you not a sissy? I don't carry a gun, I have been shot at more than once as well. If I would have had a gun I would have been better prepared, instead I had to flee as I am not bullet proof.
