They are good burgers, but I can think of better options. For me McD/Wendys < Harveys <= 5 Guys < South Street quality-wise, and price-wise 5 guys is the most expensive, good 5-6$ over Harveys for a combo. If I'm somewhere where the only option is McD or 5 guys, and I don't have coupons for McD, then maaaaybe I would go for 5 guys.
Although Iron Wooode said earlier that Harvey's has gone down in quality recently, I haven't been there in a while.

McD's over Five Guys just considering taste and quality and not price? I mean I love a Big Mac or quarter pounder with cheese, but 5 guys is just on another level taste wise to anything McD's puts out. The price just gets you thinking twice. Wendy's is definitely better than the golden arches - Dave's double is the go to. Not considering price I think the shack double is the best closely followed by five guys, then everyone else, at least that we have here in the Northeast.

trust me, it has gone down hill. Then again I am 56 years old and started going to Harveys in 1980.

So far your ranking is also borne out in the midwest and PNW.

I put Five Guys ahead of McD taste-wise in my list, better patties, way better condiments, oversized fries, charging like a 50% premium would be ok, but it's more than 2x expensive for a combo. And there are cheaper places that are comparable.

So it's Super Bowl time so decided to make some burgers/hot dogs on the outdoor griddle. Yummy. Made some fries on the power burner too.

For a while I was buying Beyond burgers b/c I thought they were healthier. Once I found out that they were more unhealthy and the bonus was supposed to be environmental impact I stopped.

They were OK. Not as good as a real beef patty but way better than any veggie/vegan option I've tried. I haven't tried Impossible yet, I've heard it's better than Beyond.

Many chefs around the world will agree American Cheese is the best cheese for a burger. Monterey Jack and Brie will give similar melting results, but something about American's gooey texture lends well to charred beef.

Veggie burgers are like a completely different food than hamburgers. I can appreciate them and I do eat them but they really aren’t anywhere near the same as beef.
My daughter is vegetarian so I've been experimenting with veggie-beef...and it's getting pretty damned close. I made smashburgers for her and her boyfriend the other night and the end result was nearly indistinguishable from beef. It even crusted over like meat would do on high heat. I'm betting this stuff is going to get more and more accepted in the next 10 years.

Tell her the animals are vegetarian, so eating animals, by extension, means she eats vegetarian.

For all those who said ketchup, the ketchup shortage is real. I had trouble finding some yesterday. First two places only had crappy store brand ketchup, third place had the right kind but only the small bottle.

It works like hot glue to keep everything together as well.

Actually now I think of it its similarity to hot glue is worrying.

Heinz simple (limited ingredients) or Heinz organic is the way to go.
Funny thing...those are much easier to find in local grocers than this version, which is the only ketchup I'll use:

Even the 'Organic' style still has too much sugar/sweetness for my tastes. Producers generally will sweeten ketchup to help cover the flavor of subpar or bitter tomatoes.

We do that also but it is a second choice. I find the organic good but yes slightly sweet and the simple limited ingredients stuff best. Tomatoes do need a little sugar this is pretty normal thing to do with a tomato sauce.

In point of fact I usually apply cheddar, but given that list in a restaurant, I'd opt for bleu. So, I picked bleu.

Just classic ingredients:

Lettuce & tomato are a must. Cheese is not that crucial. Ketchup at minimum. Mayo can work. Don't care for bacon in burgers.
You must insert a 1/4" thick 3"+ diameter slice of red onion.

This is mystifying. Total voters = 52. Just the first two are 37 and 25, more than 52.
