I paid a whole $800 for it in 1996.

It was owned by a Chevy mechanic so the engine was actually in great shape, just cosmetic issues (a lot of them).

Did I ask you about VWs before? I asked someone that had aircooled in their name, but they said it was for computers. I had a few old VWs. Great cars until they switched to water pumpers. I had a beetle, a thing, and 2 buses over the years.

I've had several bugs and 2 buses. Actually I'll probably buy a watercooled Vanagon next. love the syncro.

First car I ever purchased on my own was a 1974 Super Beetle, Sky Blue. I've also had several since then and have a ton of parts in my garage if I can get my hands on another one. Either that or I will take them to the Bug Out one year and see if I can sell them.

A dark blue 1982 Honda Prelude was my first car. I don't remember how many miles it had but it was probably close to 100k when I got it for $700.
Interior was actually nice and clean. It had rollup windows and a power moonroof and a decent stick.
The outside was starting to rust out though and, well, it was kind of ugly.

1964 Ford Falcon. Straight six engine, three on the tree & got about 30 mpg. We called it the Millennium Falcon because every thought it was a thousand years old. Of course no one complained when they wanted a ride to school.
