Well, this is sad. The first time I tried running the benchmark my pc crashed on the second test. Second try, it crashed in the fourth test. My setup is so pitiful I can't even get a score :(

Pentium II 400MHz
128 MB Ram
TNT2

All the more reason to love the new pc I'm building :)

I did enjoy the demo though...very cool.

I want to see Fkloster's score with a P4 @ 1.8Ghz and an Ultra at 250,515.

AMD Duron 600@1050
Asus geforce 2 mx 32mb Default clocks
default setting 1024x768 32bit color
some minor flicker glitches
3 tests skipped due to no hardware support.
detonator 6.50

fsaa: auto-configure.

Not too shabby. I'm on an asus a7v rev1.2 with the latest 1007 bios running via 4.29 4in1's under win2kpro with the M$ ata100 hotfix. 256megs Crucial cas3 pc133 ram. Yeah, cas3 :/ (the staples PM for $79 delivered deal about 2 months ago ; )

Note to those with Voodoo 5s (at least, based on my tinkering):

The later drivers have an option for 'Geometry Assist' that, when enabled, provides the D3D Hardware T&L option. This is the default if it is available. This does not seem to work with the Matrix scene - I kept getting Dx8 runtime errors. Once I selected 'D3D Software T&L', everything was roses.

Note that while the Hardware T&L option provided a big performance boost in 3DMark2000, I have not noticed a similar jump in 2001 compared to Software T&L. They must have changed something....

I just tried some good old fashioned overclocking :)

Thunderbird 1.2ghz (@109mhz bus), mem PC133 (@145mhz)
Elsa Geforce2 GTS 32mb at clock: 220 /mem: 375.
Using det 7.52 drivers.***

(rest of system can be seen via rigs link in profile)
edit: currently running 98SE which does not reflect rig page

Default benchmark settings used.

3348 3d marks

----previous results---

Thunderbird 1.1ghz (@100mhz bus), mem PC133 (@133mhz)
Elsa Geforce2 GTS 32mb at default clock/mem.
Using det 7.52 drivers.***

(rest of system can be seen via rigs link in profile)
edit: currently running 98SE which does not reflect rig page

Default benchmark settings used.

3028 3d marks.

In the D3d control panel of the detonator drivers, I have "alternate depth buffering" enabled for higher quality images, and have "best image quality" as the mode selected.

No compromises these days, why have a pricey video card and run sloppy settings? :)

726 on a Abit Kt7A Raid, duron 650, 256MB ram, Geforce 2 MX, is that normal. I think that is the lowest score I have seen.

PIII 700 @ 933
256 mb 133 CAS2
OC'd BX mobo (133 FSB)
Leadtek GTS 32 (220/363)
10.80 drivers (defaults other than clock)
DX8.0a
Win98

3D Mark 2000: default bench = 7300 3D Marks
3D Mark 2001: default bench = 3195 3D Marks

Observations: Everything seemed to run pretty smooth except for the high polygon, 8 light test. SL...I..D...E SH....O..W. Also, that scene where the guy gets burnt up by the dragon & goes flying off his feet, has to be one of the most poorly animated sequences of all time. WTF?
