what kind of fillrate numbers are ya getting?

275+ in single texture
500+ in multitexture scenarios...granted the tests have been changed to finally measure actual fill rate as opposed to manufacturer stated claims these seem kinda low especially in 640*480*32 mode where there should be no bandwidth problems. im running a GTS

Actually it is a Geforce2 GTS Pro

I have one from Hercules. It's inbetween a GTS and an Ultra as far as stock speed.

Anyway I got 3209 runnin

AMD @ 1.4Ghz
Hercules Geforce2 GTS Pro @ 230core 270memory.
Win2k

I'll try later with WinME and see if it makes a difference.

I don't care for the benchmark, but I sure like the demo.

What he's implying is that there are three flavors of full blown GF2:

GTS (the original, base version)
Pro (the middle ground)
Ultra (the high end)

Thus the levels are:

GF2 GTS
GF2 Pro
GF2 Ultra

A GF2 GTS Pro would be like saying Ford Explorer XLT Eddie Bauer Edition.

Heh nope, it's a GeForce2 Pro, not a GTS Pro. Check nVidia's Web site, I was just there. They made a GTS model and a Pro model. Calling it a GTS Pro is more or less the same thing as calling a Mustang Cobra, a Mustang Cobra GT. It isn't a Cobra GT, it's just a Cobra!

Your scores are useless without telling what resolution, colour depth, FSAA on or off, etc.

Please specify parameters! One cannot compare a 640x480x16 score to a 1024x768x32 score, for example!

It CAN be called a GTS Pro if you want to confuse people, but WHY would you? True enough it uses the same core, but it's a different card. Kinda like the Mustang analogy above, the Cobra uses many of the enhancements of the GT, but it isn't a Cobra GT, because there isn't a Cobra that ISN'T a GT.

Sorry about causing the confusion. It's a Geforce2 Pro. I just called it a Geforce2 GTS Pro because on the Hercules box it's advertised as the &quot;3D Prophet II GTS Pro&quot;.

Yeah, what shooters said. Hercules calls it GTS Pro. My bad.

The other reason I mention it is because I thought there were some company's selling Nvidia cards as Pro's but with 64m of SDR memory, but with a higher core speed than the standard GTS. Falling somewhere between a standard GTS and a real Pro.

Anyway- the demo seems to have some graphic glitches while running it with Win2k and not ME. Things like weird pauses and a few random flashes between frames.

WinME score was 3621 as opposed to 3209 with Win2k.

sharkeeper- I think most people assume to run the default benchmark without changing any settings.
