Without guilt, I just hope that next hurricane season spawns a Climate Change Monster that will miss the blue cities and drown all the Red, redneck Florida voters who elect fascists like DeSantis.

And somebody should require their kids to read more books if they want a high-school diploma.

Allegedly ... Ron DeSantis was present during torture sessions at Guantanamo Bay while he was a JAG laughing at detainee's choking and shitting themselves. If this interviewee is to be believed, DeSantis participated in the torture on a psychological level and reveled in it. As much of a pycopath this make him look like, I suspect this will most likely help his chances running for office with a segment of Republican voters.

I can think of zero reasons to ever support DeSantis for President. He's now off to Iowa to basically campaign for that office instead of actually governing here in the state of Florida. I'd like to know if Florida taxpayers are paying for the trip. Of course politicians always come up with some reason that they need to travel somewhere on the taxpayers' dime and I'm willing to bet that he is not spending any of his money for the trip. Sunshine laws were put in place to allow taxpayers to be able to know these things. Probably not the case here in the Sunshine State these days. According to current Florida law DeSantis has to resign to run for President. I'm sure he is working on getting a bill to sign to change that law. The thing is that he basically is already campaigning for President, and if he's not paying for it he may already be breaking some sort of law. BTW DeSantis in those white boots looks like the gayest person on the planet.

This has been a big discussion with my neighbors in Deerfield Beach/Boca. He has allegedly not been on the up and up before with taxpayer dollars.

Still crickets.

How many times do we hear complaints people on the right have their voices stifled? Here DeSantis supporters a chance to articulate their support based on his statements, policies enacted, and goals. So far we've got nothing.

Is it really just "own the libs"? I don't want to speak for anyone's behalf but so far, we have no responses.

It shouldn't be that diffacult. Or is it?

As odd and incredulous as it's unfolded, I find myself rooting for Trump to beat DeSantis. I never imagined that I'd ever be a Trump supporter. Boils my bile to think of it. Well, at least I could look at it from the position that all I'm doing is placing a bet on a scorpion vs centipede fight.

I'm honestly having a hard time finding a rational reason why anyone would support DeSantis, and that's coming from a cynical view.

If you're a Trumpist... well, Trump's running again, so you vote for him if he wins the primary.

After that, it gets weirder. You have to be opposed to Trump but still blindly loyal enough to vote for anyone with an "(R)" in front of their name. Or you actively support DeSantis' pro-hate, pro-censorship stances.
what are you fucking kidding me?
he tells people what they wanna hear!

HOW THE FUCK ELSE DOES ANYBODY EVER GET ELECTED!!????!!!!

Those boots are gayer than Pete Buttigieg's. Yet another example right wingers are such phonies. Imagine Pete wearing Ron's boots. Left wing media should have had breaking news on Ron's feminine white boots. This is where CNN and MSNBC fails to brainwash their audience. /s

Im waiting to see what 3rd party candidates pop their heads up for 2024. It aint DeSantis.
Things can change quickly during election season primaries, but the most likely candidate I can foresee running on 3rd party platform in the general election would be Trump, if he loses the primary. He'd do it purely out of spite if nothing else. "If I can't win for the party, then nobody can." He'd do it knowing full well that he'd split the vote.
My one real hope is that 1) The GOP establishment and Fox tries to shunt Trump aside and 2) Trump goes apeshit and tries to bring them down with him, possibly even going 3rd party. I think there's a non-zero chance it could happen, but I'm not all that optimistic.

Voting 3rd party...you might as well not vote at all. Ralph Nader can rot in hell for sinking Al Gore when he had no chance to win himself. The Green Party deserves nothing but contempt because they help the one party out to actively destroy the environment to prevail...nice going chaps. There's a zero percent chance that a 3rd party candiate will win, so all you are doing is giving up your small voice in who will win.
I had a few friends who stated they were planning to vote for Nader. I tried to convince them that they were giving their vote to Bush, but their responses were, "If I don't vote for Nader, I wouldn't vote for anyone."

After the election was over and Bush had won, their story changed to, "I wish I hadn't thrown my vote away!" It wouldn't have made a difference in my state, but elsewhere like Florida? It definitely mattered.

Safety boots
You mean he wasn't wearing safety boots? Steel toes? Last time I was required to buy a pair of steel toed boots for a job I had I shopped all over and couldn't find a pair I could stand to wear (foot issues). Instead I bought a pair that looked sorta like them but didn't have protection. I still have them, 3 pairs, because they were comfortable immediately.

Anyway, it's his feet.

Edit: Besides, WTF is looking at his feet?
