Ever wonder why people make fun of the South? March 2023 and they just got around to this. Still leaving the door open for 16 year olds.
No what's fucked up is the rest that are fighting it so hard....West Virginia is "the south" only in culture.
But yeah its fucked up in 2023 they finally got around to it.
Holy shit. Just.....speechless...Some of the WV Pubs said...
"However, some argued that the bill would go against traditions in West Virginia.
Kanawha County Republican Senator Mike Stuart, who is a former federal prosecutor, sided with the majority and said his vote “wasn’t a vote against women.” He added that his mother was married when she was 16, and “six months later, I came along. I’m the luckiest guy in the world.”
He is basically saying his mother got pregnant at like 15, meaning someone was having sex with a 15 year old and he was totally ok with it. Republican family values.Holy shit. Just.....speechless...
I mean that's basically the entire republican party platform in a nutshell.Teens being considered adults was common back in the day. By that I mean before 1900s.
We had to update our laws to say otherwise.
Guess some states still had not updated all the different aspects of that.
No what's fucked up is the rest that are fighting it so hard....
They've pulled ahead of California.Ever wonder why people make fun of the South? March 2023 and they just got around to this. Still leaving the door open for 16 year olds.
"Until the middle of the 20th century, infant mortality was approximately 40–60% of the total mortality. Excluding child mortality, the average life expectancy during the 12th–19th centuries was approximately 55 years. If a person survived childhood, they had about a 50% chance of living 50–55 years, instead of only 25–40 years."Be advised that 16 is considered "age of consent" for sex in MANY US states including Connecticut and Mass.... not exactly "southern" states.
Also be careful about taking history "out of context" .... when most folks were dead by 40 or so, 15 years old was early middle-age not "childhood".
Yeah they're literally about 300 years behind northern europe and about 200 years behind most of earth and at least 100 years behind civilized America.I mean that's basically the entire republican party platform in a nutshell.
They want rights as they existed about in the 1700s or even a few centuries earlier:
Women were property of men.
Blacks were property of whites
Unaccountable kings
They've been kicking and screaming to be brought into the 20th and now 21st centuries
Just pointing out a common mistake in conflating average life expectancy and average lifespan.Okay so that would make approx 25 "mid-life" meaning that 15 years old was still solidly into "adulthood" back then .... doesn't change my point one bit. (also you think the massive infant-mortality rate didn't motivate making more babies somewhat?)
Having said that I find it EXTREMELY creepy that anyone would even entertain the idea of lowering (or removing!) age-restrictions for marriage or "consent" in 2023. (so old white men can "marry" pre-teens)
Take a look at the marriage laws in California, they're not all that different.Yeah they're literally about 300 years behind northern europe and about 200 years behind most of earth and at least 100 years behind civilized America.
Appreciated.Just pointing out a common mistake in conflating average life expectancy and average lifespan.

umm maybe it was another 15-year-old boy? it just not possible that teenagers fuck, no way, can never ever happen. it has to be some creepy old guy in is 20s raping that 15-year-old.He is basically saying his mother got pregnant at like 15, meaning someone was having sex with a 15 year old and he was totally ok with it. but but but you have no issue with mutilating children before puberty. thats the Democrat platform in a nutshell. disgusting.I mean that's basically the entire republican party platform in a nutshell.

Okay, so what does that have to do with teen marriage?umm maybe it was another 15-year-old boy? it just not possible that teenagers fuck, no way, can never ever happen. it has to be some creepy old guy in is 20s raping that 15-year-old.![]()
Circumcision? That’s generally a religious thing.but but but you have no issue with mutilating children before puberty. thats the Democrat platform in a nutshell. disgusting.
Age of consent is not required age for marriage, though. Not that different in some regards, but teens are going to have sex before reaching adulthood. Doesn't mean they need to be allowed to marry young.Be advised that 16 is considered "age of consent" for sex in MANY US states including Connecticut and Mass.... not exactly "southern" states.
Your point? Doesn't matter what state it is. If something is morally/ethically questionable, pointing the finger to some blue state doesn't absolve the red state of the same thing. There's no #whataboutism here unless you want to excuse both.Take a look at the marriage laws in California, they're not all that different.
I see you're still a dishonest, shit-heeled cvnt. Shocker.but but but you have no issue with mutilating children before puberty. thats the Democrat platform in a nutshell. disgusting.
