Raiding will never, ever be that difficult again. Ever.

There will still be plenty of raiding for the ubers.
this is why WoTLK has top of the top best ratings on many renowned review sites along with GTA4 and other top games...
is you ignore raiding wrath is infinitly better then TBC
yep, part of the "BC was a failure" that's gone from the game.

Like the whopping two new raid bosses we got with Wrath at launch? Seriously, WoW is just a bank account for Blizz that they have their janitors design while training lately

Most of the reviews were written within a week of WoTLK coming out. This isn't a single player game with a coop mode, MMO expansions are played for years straight- they need to hold up. This is where Wrath jumps off a cliff compared to TBC or Vanilla WoW.

PVP? Crafting? Mini games that would be banned from freeware sites for being a waste of space? As a serious question, what end game element in Wrath do you think is really comparable to anything before it? To me all of it seems a staggering amount worse. As of right now I don't know anyone at all IRL who still plays- something I have never been able to say about WoW before. It isn't because they got bored or something else got their interest, most of them are bored stiff right now waiting for anything to come out, they all quit because Wrath sucks so badly.
yep, part of the "BC was a failure" that's gone from the game.
Wrath sold 5.24Million copies. Vanilla WoW sold 11.84 and BC sold 6.42Million. Wrath was less successful then BC in every commercial way, although both were utterly dwarfed by Vanilla obviously. Blizzard has very clearly moved all of their top development teams to other projects, including their next MMO, WoW is for the no talent hacks to do just enough to keep the extremely die hard loyalists in the fold.
If you hate WOW and WotLK so much
Less QQ, more Cancel Subscription.
If you have already quit and don't play WOW any more, why do you continue to post in WOW threads?
because their subscription numbers are still ridiculously high and there hasn't been a mass exodus from the game

Rated BGs will indirectly nerf arena items in the manner you are describing.

I had a blast with Vanilla WoW and TBC, Wrath is an abortion though.

I cancelled a little while ago.

Is this a general WoW thread? I must have something wrong with my computer, I thought it rather clearly asked what people's thoughts were on the announced expansion. I played from Vanilla to Tier8, I figured I had a right to offset some of Blizzard's apologist crew
because their subscription numbers are still ridiculously high and there hasn't been a mass exodus from the game
12Million to 5Million, you are right, no huge exodus there![]()
I mean, when I quit for a couple of months, I rarely posted in WOW threads or even read WOW-related material because I had little interest in the game during that time, since I canceled my sub and moved on to other things.
You're claiming that WOW is down to 5 million subscribers now? Wow, I must have missed that announcement! Got a link to back up your claim? Because last I checked, they had topped 12 million subscribers
and my post clearly stated subscribers, not "number of expansion packs sold"
Methinks you're just bitter over the "casual" direction the game is going, and yearn for ye olde days of raiding 40+ hours a week. It is your opinion, and you are entitled to it, just don't make blanket statements of fact to the tune of "WotLK is terrible, WOW has failed because I personally don't like the direction of the game even though most of the players do".

This thread is about what people think of the new expansion, I stated my view and was of course jumped by the rabid Blizzard apologists.

That took like two seconds. WoW subscriptions down- 17.8Million results.

I'll try and keep that in mind next time- reality is not important when it comes to WoW, just your ability to bury your head in the sand and jump to conclusions![]()

Mini games are now a core element of raiding. If they were good mini games, this would only be a travesty, but they are flat out terrible. Phase 3 of Malygos which was the pinnacle of raid content when Wrath launched gets all of its challenge through a terrible camera system. Nothing else is even slightly difficult about the fight. Ulduar opening boss, again, a piss poor mini game with lousy controls being the prime challenge this time. Overcome the terribad controls, everything else is cake. Argent Failiseum(to quote Anubis)- another set of mini games this time revolving around jousting.

In the WoW universe there are tanks, while I can admire the Pols bravery in WW2 them charging the Panzers with cavalry didn't make much sense. This isn't just about direction, this is about flat out terribad gameplay. You learn all the ins and outs of a character through thousands of hours to have it all thrown out for a mini game that would be laughed out of a Mario Party try out round.
You want to play mini games, try Pogo- or better yet, Mario Party. WoW is a bait and switch at this point.
Anyway, the amout of subscriptions for WoW at this point is down 7 million versus their claimed high, that is the reality of the current situation.
How many of those subscribers lost were from China?
Again, still curious, you claim that "rabid Blizzard apologists" jumped you, but they play the game and enjoy the game, yet you're the one who clearly hates the game and doesn't play any more, yet you take the time to rabidly deride the game.

You even bolded subscriber in your post, that number currently is 5 million. Blizz is the one that has been claiming 12million. That is a drop of 7 million. By Blizzards numbers, 5.5Million users were in China paying pennies to play as you put it, that still leaves a 1.5Million gap to explain.

This thread was asking what people thought about how the new expansion looked. I did not see only unabashed Blizzard apologists welcome to the WoW love in. You know what, people ask all the time what people think of a new game or new expansion and I respond all the time, just most games don't have their own apologist crew like Blizzard. Seriously, I hope they pay you guys well.
just for clarification, you've never actually experienced any of this, right? I'll agree with you on P3 Malygos
also, Malygos wasn't the pinnacle of WotLK-release raiding...
people aren't getting up and leaving en mass (aka: an exodus)

As for attunements, etc: You're expecting something that is not part of a continually successful MMO. Almost every MMO in existence gets more and more casual over time. I played EQ for a LONG time, and that game got very, very casual, which is completely fine. You're nothing but an elitist douche. You just want the content to be so hard that only your guild is able to kill it. What? You need niche conquests in a game because your real life is so empty?
