I need to know what and how often to eat. I need fast cheap and easy to make foods. I am 6ft 207lbs and I want to get back to 175-185 lbs asap while doing it healthy. I was in great shape as a minor but then the back problems came along lol.

I've looked online but I'm confused as alot of info conflicts so if anyone can help me out please do so. I drink only water, oj and Gatorade now, I sweat like a pig at work and don't have much time to work out. I am hoping with what I do at work and the right foods I can drop a good 25-30 lbs quickly but be healthy about it the same time.

Please only serious replies, no jokes this time guys. I been out of work since feb due to back surgery and I just started working 2 weeks ago. I really fell apart in 6 months and I need some help getting it back together...

first quit drinking OJ and Gatorade. that's a lot of extra carbs you don't need, especially since you are inactive.

exercise, eat lots of protein and good fats, and keep the carbs to a minimum.

Gatorade should not be drank on a regular basis unless you are physically active.

Switch to whole grains and no more refined carbs will make a huge difference and if you dont like it you will eventually get used to the taste. I personally like the taste better.

There is no replacement for water. Hold back on sweets and jsut basically cook for yourself.

Dont eat a salad then drown it in fatty dressings.. just use like olive oil and balsimic vinegar.

I can tell you more in specifics if you give me a total idea of what you eat and do in a day.

I took a Diet and Exercise class at UCLA and did extra research studies on the side about all this.

1.Track calories
2. Weigh yourself on a daily basis
3. Modify (e.g. consume less calories) diet and/or exercise so that you see you are losing weight
4. Make sure to drink enough water

There are hundreds of other tips and plans, but really daily calorie counting and reconciling that with your weight is the easiest and most sure fire way of losing weight.

What is good fat, anyway? I heard plant oil is good because it's generally made of cis-unsaturated fat whereas animal fats are saturated fat. Then I've also heard people bitch about eating KFC and McDonalds specifically because their stuff is deep fried in canola oil. wtf is the answer? Is canola oil good or bad? I just want a simple yes/no good/bad answer and I can't find one.

Easy way to lose weight is to convince your doctor you have either narcolepsy or ADHD. He will give you a prescription for amphetamine. The amphetamine will greatly increase your metabolism. Your body will generate huge amounts of heat even when you're doing nothing. If you find that you're naturally cold all the time, amphetamine will make your body generate so much heat that you'll turn into one of those people who can wear a thin jacket in winter without freezing to death.

burn more calories than you consume. If this doesnt happen there is no weight loss. plain and simple.

You have to work out to maintain a healthy lifestyle. There's no way around that. So figure out a way to work in some exercise 4-5 days a week but don't do it to lose weight, do it because it will help keep you healthy. Then, come up with a plan for your diet (i.e. eating) that you can live with. If you exercise and eat less JUST to lose weight you will get down to your target weight, stop, and then gain the weight right back plus more probably.

So the bottom line is if you want to become more healthy and lose weight in the process and keep it off you need to develop a lifestyle that includes healthier eating and regular exercise.

stop eating like a fucking pig and go for a walk everyday. Once you feel up to it, you can start working out to really get fit. also, visit your physician before working out just to make sure you aren't going to die on someone's weight bench.

Lastly, if you want encouragement, create a thread in the H&F subforums. There are plenty of guys there who would love to cheer you on. (no joke they're all cool in there)

as most suggested exercise is the key.
problem with most diets that tell you that you have to reduce your food intake is that they dont tell you that by doing so you put your body into a forced preservation mode where it burns even less calories and stores even more fat, so you really only loose more muscle mass. it will make feel weaker and tired.

you should eat frequently in small portions and eat healthy food and capitalize on organic foods

i would also take a look at this movie

you can watch it for free on netflix

Replace everything you drink with water, that is good way to lower the calories.

someone needs to create a remote controlled internal balloon that you can remotely inflate in your stomach after you've eaten your required calories. Press a button...bam! I feel full. or something to that effect

weight watchers point system works pretty well, gf lost 60lb on it, i lost 25. pretty brainless system. sign up online to track and use their calculator until you can manage on your own without it. it's a simple calorie cutting diet without cutting out all the stuff you like, just limiting portions. except for, you know, soda and fried foods and such.

We already have that. It's called fiber. It's food that cannot be digested and does nothing but take up space.

Problem with fiber is it's always dressed with so much crap to sweeten it it becomes fattening

Pretty much all vegetables and beans, high-fiber and low-sugar cereals, certain fruits (raspberries, apples, pears), and whole-grain foods such as pasta are all excellent sources of fiber that are generally not dressed up with "crap."

It's fairly easy to include a very large amount of fiber in your diet if you know what to look for.

As for the recommendation to seek out amphetamines from your doctor...yeah, don't do that. It MAY affect your metabolism (jury's still out on that one), and it likely will reduce your appetite, but there are MUCH safer ways to lose fat than to rely on pharmacological aids.

The catch is that you don't add vegetables to your meal. Your whole meal should focus on vegetables and everything else is added to improve the taste.

Example: I like salad. Just eating leaves is for dinosaurs and idiots, so I put high fat salad dressing on it. The whole thing is maybe 300 calories. That's pretty good for a meal, considering something like a mcdonalds big mac has about 500 and is equally filling.

Another one I had as a kid was celery with peanut butter on it. The peanut butter makes it not taste like ass.

My mom would prepare spinach that is soaked in watered-down vinegar. It tastes pretty good.

Another one my mom likes is bran cereal with brown sugar added to it. The only calories in it are from milk and sugar. The rest is all fiber. You can feel full after eating something like this, even though it's the caloric equivalent of eating saw dust with some sugar on it.

It's a well established fact that amphetamine increases your metabolism. I'm taking a prescription medication to treat chronic low blood sugar, and the drug is basically an amphetamine with a chlorine attached to the ring part of it. The results are unbelievable. It works so well. My blood sugar is way up (amphetamines and other stimulants increase blood sugar), my metabolism is way up, and I no longer have cold hands and feet.

The down side is that amphetamine puts a huge amount of stress in your body. Literally. When people say they are stressed out, what they are often saying is that their body has an unusually high level of cortisol, and it puts them on edge. Cortisol does the exact opposite of insulin, it lowers your immune system, and it has a ton of other physical effects.

Amphetamine and other stimulants cause your cortisol levels to go through the roof. Blood sugar goes way up, metabolism goes way up, immune system goes down, it can cause jitters, seizures, high blood pressure, messes with your reproductive organs, it reduces your appetite (which is bad because your metabolism is higher and needs food), and it's also hard on the kidneys.

You probably remember a lot of weight loss drugs being pulled from the market. If you think back, you'll notice that they never said the drugs were ineffective. The drugs worked great. The problem was that some people couldn't handle the additional stress they caused, and they died from it. Heart attacks are quite common when fat people take a stimulant drug and go jogging.

You're taking it to treat something; not lying to get the drug.

So why the FUCK would you ever recommend "convince your doctor you have either narcolepsy or ADHD. He will give you a prescription for amphetamine."
