Meanwhile COVID rates are climbing again as the Delta variant takes over. And there's evidence that even mild infections in younger people are causing long term affects.

Yea, I know the even mention of the WHO will trigger the Trumpers in this forum, but I just saw that the WHO is recommending that even the fully vaccinated continue to wear masks. I am fully vaccinated, and have actually stopped wearing a mask, although I still would wear one where required like transportation and medical locations. I am still watching state daily case rates, and they have fallen to only around a hundred a day, and seem stable at that level. If they start to rise significantly and stay elevated, I probably would start wearing a mask again. The only activity I am limiting is I still have not started going back to the gym, although I am considering it. It just doesn't seem worth the even minimal risk, as I can still work out at home.

I can hardly believe it but my right wing parents continue to wear their face masks in public. I took my shots so I only wear mine if the facility mandates it and I live in Florida Retardistan.

Been fully vaccinated since March 2nd and I still wear my masks any time I go to a store. If my kids could get vaccinated and were I probably wouldn't care, but since they are 6 years and 10 months old I still wear it, because I'm not a selfish snowflake and it isn't a big deal at all. My 6 year old wore his mask for 6 hours straight 4 days a week while in school. I think I can handle wearing it for 5 minutes while I run into the store, and so can anyone else. Oh and I have asthma so that medical excuse is some bullshit too. I even wear mine at the gym while working out and am exerting myself. I also don't want to be a hypocrite to my son making him wear his and me not wear mine.

My county has probably some of the best numbers in the country at this point too - 0.6 cases per 100k people on a 7 day rolling average and we have 1.05 million people. It's not stopping me from doing anything though. We are doing our normal summer stuff and going to gatherings. At the pool which is at full capacity I'm not wearing a mask and it's packed (neither is my son or any kids) but based on science, being outdoors is good.

Another month in - still a cultist following.

Mid-June every state lifted restrictions - yet plenty of cultists for whatever reason are still indoctrinated into stupidity at a supreme level.

per my State, unvaccinated should stay masked.
I can also see why someone having chemo or whatever even if vaccinated can still be infected would continue wearing a mask.
But yeah I suspect a big part is fear, just as a big part of the non vaccinated is fear

Man, you are undeniably sick in the head. You are a walking/posting mental case. This is such a brain dead thread.

Your health is most important, I don't care who you are. Wearing a mask is all about protecting yourself (and your fellow humans), if thought of as a political statement, much less a cultist phenomenon, the thinker has a time bomb for a brain, set to self destruct, not instantly but incrementally. Wake the fuck up!

i recently went to a big family gathering and nobody was wearing a mask including all my older relatives, so i didn't feel the need to wear one.

also recently, i had to get my vehicle emissions tested, and the technicians were wearing masks so i wore one too.

when in rome, read the room, etc, etc. it's not a big deal if i have to wear a mask. i don't get mad about it. i don't even give it a second thought.

I am not going to come back here for the next week or two, so here is what I am going to say.

@s0me0nesmind1 I understand that you really feel that Trump and the Republicans are right. You feel that those who can't get a free state id are either too lazy or are illegals. But just for once, listen to a few things I have to say.

1. What about people who have been born before computers were implemented, and lost their birth certificate? What if they live in a home that was previously owned by their parents, and are poor and jobless. How can they prove that they are the legal owners of the home, and that the previous owners were their parents? To prove or get any of this, one needs money, something the poor may not have.

2. It's not the fault of have too low number of staffs watching over ballot boxes, which Republicans claim can lead to someone dropping multiple ballots. It's the fault of the ballot box watchers themselves and no body else if they are not able to look at the ballot boxes. That does not mean there should be less ballot boxes, that means the government should fire and replace the ballot box watchers if they feel there was fraud in the 2020 elections.

It's all about them boot straps.

Some of us lace our boots up though. So I don't quite get the pulling up your bootstraps innuendo that them there GQP'ers love to use.

I sure wouldn't want to use pull up boots on my job I can tell you that much.

Compassion, being able to imagine themselves in other people's shoes (boots, if you will), isn't something GQP'ers are good at.

Today, for the first time since Feb. 29, 2020, I ordered take out at a restaurant. I called in the order, told them when I'd come to pick it up and I went in wearing an N95.

It is not that difficult to obtain a copy of your birth certificate, even if you were born before the computer age. It takes a few days, but one can request a copy from the records department of the county in which they were born for a few dollars. I know, because I did it (by mail from out of state, no less), and I was born *well* before computers were invented. I also dont think you have to prove you own property to vote, just documentation of your address (such as a utility bill or receipt for rent or mortgage payment).

WHO recommendation is meaningless as no one is going to follow it in US. CDC will not recommend people wear mask again as politically it's non starter. For all sens and purpose both social distancing and mask mandate is over and unless we start having body dropping dead on the street, we will never have it again.

Those that want to wear a mask will absolute do it and the rest will go on with their life including those that are not vaccinated.

Well, I think I am just going to start beating the shit out of people who won't wear masks when required, vaccinated or not. I lost my brother yesterday to Covid, who we couldn't even see till the very end. Unfortunately, he was never able to take the vaccine because of medical reasons. So right now people who don't want to wear masks that should, those that can, but chose not to be vaccinated, people who sit and spread the bullshit lies like someonesmind and such, and knowing most of this could have been avoided, I really just want to take my hurt, pain and anger out on right now and beat them to a bloody pulp. And I would have no sympathy for the motherfucker as they lay there in their own pool of blood taking their last breath. And Trump, I would have zero sympathy if that fucker fell into a tub of acid and died the most painful death imaginable. Politics have no place in a health crisis! Fuck them all.. yeah, I'm not in a good place right now.. I pity the poor bastard that says the wrong thing to me at this time.

So did I, just this past year for my son. It cost me almost $50.
That isn't a lot of money, to many people.
To low-income folks living paycheck to paycheck, week to week, it's more than, "a few dollars".
It IS a bar, just like a high fee for an identification card would be.
I lost my brother yesterday to Covid, who we couldn't even see till the very end.
I am truly sorry to hear about your loss.

Makes it frustrating af when people everywhere act (and have been for some time, mind you) like it's all over and "nothing to worry about", meanwhile people ARE still being infected and dying, and variant spread is still increasing.

Delta variant now dominant in all states except South Dakota, and this dickless clown is still projecting his cult mentality on others while people are still getting infected?

Of course he is.

Really should stick to being a republican bidet, defending their racist and sexist agendas, because even the lamest of projection attempts like this thread seem to be complete failures.

I'm so, so sorry Midnight. And I know the feeling.

We've lost a lot of Americans over the egos of the party before country assholes. I can only hope this steels many Americans into understanding why GQP leadership is toxic for America.

Is Delta Variant overriding vaccination and taking us back to square one?

Not really, Pfizer and Moderna handle it well, though the best vaccine at this point appears to be Novavax out of Maryland. I believe it is the strongest protection against covid and covid variants at this time. I don't believe it's built with messenger RNA, pretty sure I read somewhere it uses the same technique as the pertussis (whooping cough) vaccine. Super effective, hope I can get that for my kids.

Red states with their heads up their asses, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee, others, the delta variant is really going to surge back there. I won't be surprised if deaths skyrocket. And I'm sure they'll find a way to blame Joe Biden, BLM, AOC and the dreaded "leftists" for their politically motivated denial, complacency. My heart goes out to the good people stuck in those shitty states trying to do right by their neighbors, who receive abuse and ridicule for it.

Meanwhile, we hit 81% vaccinated in VT. Still a little amazed, plenty of rednecks up here after all. I credit the Gov, as he's neither an idiot or a cult member.

They are saying that the mRNA vaccines if you have had both shots are 88% effective against the Delta Variant, which is quite excellent. The one shot vaccines IIRC are over 60% effective, which is considered quite good.

I'm with you 100%, but don't have your motivation. I lost my brother 10 years ago or so to lung cancer. I have no one to hate on for that, except maybe the tobacco industry, I think they should eradicate tobacco from the planet. I miss my brother more than any other person I know of that has died.

However, if somebody gets in my face because I'm masked up my heart rate will skyrocket and they would probably be in real danger... me too, of course, but I'd be seriously triggered.
