Sounds like a deal. Really nice place by the way. Congrats!

Thanks!

I agree on the lighting by the way, but it seems to work ok for the place. That ceiling fan on the other hand... D:

Congrats! Looks very nice, especially the inside. I'm really jealous of all that cabinet space in the kitchen!

Interesting that the garage is underneath. Is it the full size of the house? Also, how tall is the ceiling in it?

It's most of it, then there are two more garages next to ours for the other two houses next door. Like I said it's a bit of an odd set-up, but there are quite a few like that around there. Just maximizing space I guess.

They are all separate though, they just happen to be next to each other.

It was built that way by the guy that built it. He built the three houses there and did them up pretty well. Definitely need to hit the Depot, even before I move! So much to do!

Well, I've had to do that in pre-owned houses I have bought as well. In fact the current house I live in when I bought it, it was 5 years old at the time. I ripped out all the crappy shelving and cabinets in the garage, as well as repaint the entire inside and outside of the house. Then again, I'm not really into lime green exteriors and purple/red/black interior colors

I think that EVERYONE should repaint their house when they buy it. It's a great way to make it feel like you really OWN the place. Plus you can get your friends to help out for a few beers.

Woohoo indeed! :awe:

Fortunately we got them down about 16.5K from asking because it was a bit overpriced.

Anyway, just kind of excited. Going to be so freaking busy between now and the moving day! D:

We? Is there other news you'd like to share? Did you . . . gulp . . . get re-married? Or have you simply found a sane, smart and sexy woman with which to co-exist, legal status to be determined (or not) at some later date? :p

I think in Canada you MUST get a contractor for Gas. No DIY. Hope your freind saves you money. Mine wanted $3000 to run a line and I am an general contractor so I get deals from subs, I did it for $300.

Yeah pretty sure too, and I'm not even sure if gas stoves are legal here but it probably goes by province if they're not. Never seen one in any home here unless it's a camper or cottage. So something to look into before doing the purchase.

Definitely legal as I've seen them in many other places I was looking at, plus I have one where I currently live. Now, setting up a new line could be a wholly different ball of worms.

If your house already has natural gas for the furnace, then it's really not too bad of a job - or, it's a major pita. Depends on the route the pipes have to take. With a basement at my old house, I was able to put in a new line to one of those ventless area heaters. It took me 2 or 3 hours, tops, including installation of the heater. But, another time, I put in a gas line to an upstairs "bedroom" that we converted into a laundry room. That was a major pita to do & took better than a day to finish, plus had to rip up flooring in the upstairs, etc.

I have to offer some sort of sacrifice too. :hmm:

Does oldsmoboat have you on speed dial as well? Dayum.

Nice place, congrats! Basement would have been nice but sounds like the right house at the right price.

You guys are lucky back east with basements and such. Most out here is post tension slabs. Cut a cable and kill your neighbor.:p

I'll have to take a look at that, or more accurately have someone else look at that, to see the best way to do it. I'd rather not rip up the floors, but if needs to be done, then I can handle that.

Vancouver. I've never been to London, but it looks nice enough. I'll be in Toronto in early June; been ages since I was last in Ontario.

Looks like a nice house! No picture of the master bedroom though?!?

Kitchen looks spacious and plenty of storage. That was definitely something i looked for in my house. Had thanksgiving at my place last year and it was nice having enough room for my mom, grandmother, sister-in-law and I to all be in the kitchen doing things.

For some reason the people there did not want pictures of the master bedroom up on the listing, so no pics. :hmm:

Yeah, that's awesome! The big kitchen was a huge selling point for me since I love to cook and this one definitely allows for a couple of people to work at the same time. Pretty sweet.

Not really sure, but they are pretty tall. One of the best things about this place is all of the finishing and attention to detail. It's very solid and you can really see the difference after going through houses, and even condos, around the city.

Does anyone have experience with alarm companies? I know the place is wired, but I was looking at Alarm Force and other places to see what is best. :hmm:

How big (sq ft speaking) is the house OP? Since you said it is in Vancouver, I bet it is not cheap.
