Might be fun to get different recepies to try from people on the forums. So, lets see em!

My main one:
4-6 whole strawberries (top sliced off of course)
1 kiwi, quartered (yellow kiwi is good for a change too)
1 bananna, broke in half or thirds
1-2 hadfuls of blueberries or mixed berries (raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, etc)
3-4 spoonfuls of yogurt (vanilla/blueberry are good for flavored, greek is good since no added sugars)
A few cubes of ice

I sure hope the OP is a female because, well, guys don't make smoothies nor do we drink smoothies.

Sounds good OP, but I'd use frozen fruit instead. I hate when people add ice.

Let's also list the blender you use and how well you like it. That is, if it's cool with the OP. ;)

Smoothie optional

I don't know, I'm not a fan of smoothies. Too much work and clean up. I prefer to buy a quart of fat free milk instead.

I got too lazy for smoothies, these days I just throw protein in milk and shake.

Not to be a downer, but I'm pretty sure we have at least two of these threads in here already.

I did a search, apparently I suck at searching (MrMatt's below).

Works for me.

I have a generic one (got it from Sears or something). It works, but sometimes leaves chunks of stuff it didn't blend which is quite annoying.

+1 for frozen fruit. It doesn't dilute the shake (masculine term for smoothie).

Yeah, I don't like it watered down either. I only add a little bit that doesn't water it down any noticable amount. I usually use frozen blueberries at least, but much prefer fresh fruit (easier to use for other stuff too then). The ice is entirely optional, as I have done both with and without.

I use a vita-mix. It's the blender God would use if he made smoothies. It may have more horsepower than my lawnmower.

My parents have one of those and it's pretty damn good at blending. Even chops up raspberry seeds (although you can still feel the little bits when drinking). Mine, while it doesn't blend quite as well, does two things better than the vita-mix though: I find it's a bit better at keeping a very cold mixture moving, and the glass part detaches from the blade apparatus, which makes it much easier to clean by hand. I have a Hamilton Beach Wave Station.

All of you.. Hand in your man cards now.

Are you one of those guys that also thinks it's unmanly to have personal hygiene? The smoothie I make in the morning has over 1000 calories, almost 70 grams of fat, and 60 grams of protein. Doesn't sound too girlie to me.

1 pack of oatmeal
1 raw egg
1 scoop chocolate protein powder
1 banana
some peanut butter
Maybe some milk

Not the greatest texture, but it goes down alright.

Or otherwise I just do something simple:
1 Scoop strawberry protein powder
Fill with frozen fruit (strawberries, blackberries, raspberries)
Add cold water

Delicious.

Ah mine is so simple but what the hell, I'll post it anyway.

2 cups of packaged frozen mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
1 banana (usually placed in freezer for 30 mins or fridge before doing yard work)
1 six ounce container of yogurt (usually mixed berry)
X amount of acai berry V8 splash (stuff is SO GOOD) to get the consistency how I like.

I hardly ever make them, but when I do it's generally after I'm done with mowing/yard work (2 hours) on a hot summer day.

Can't find it for the life of me, curse you google, but I recall a study done on raw egg consumption. It found that people can only metabolize half of the protein available in uncooked eggs. Just an fyi for people using raw eggs in their shakes.

It's easy for me to toss a couple eggs into my shakes, so it's worth it in my case.

What I wondered is if being raw only effects our ability to digest the egg protein. Eggs are full of fatty acids, and I could forget about the lost protein as long as all the other goodies were digestible.

I know it seems a trivial thing, but there are some nights I am just too tired to eat and I would love to have a justification to throw a couple eggs into my pre-bed shake.
