Do you think AMD would make many sales having 390X = Hawaii + 5% in 3dMark for similar prices to the 980?

Do you think AMD is so stupid that they would not understand that? If its priced similar to the 980, it has to be significantly faster to sell.

So either the price leak is wrong, or you're wrong regarding pushing this "rebrand" idea.

No, either the 390X benchmarks from videocards is wrong or you are wrong and AMD does plan to sell it at that price.

I have a different benchmark from 390X seeing the same tiny gain from 290X (<10%), but I havent bothered to post it since its not 3DMark which people here only understands.

EDIT: The benchmark of 390X shows exactly +7% over 290X ;)

Do those benchmarks come from your "source"?

So if it is 10% faster from R9 290X in 1440p, it gets on par with GTX980, and gets faster than Nvidia card at 4K, while costing less.

Not a bad deal at all.

Correct. 390X looks like a rebranded Hawaii with 1050MHz instead of 1000MHz from the looks of it. Of course I dont know the details about power consumption, but the two benchmarks is nowhere close to +20% over 980. Its actually slightly below 980

We will see in a couple weeks.

IF FIJI = 600MM2

THEN FIJI = 295x2 PERFORMANCE.

Why don't you post those benchmarks here, Cloud?

Allright since you asked. Its a system benchmark, and the second result is the result from the GPU benchmark.

R9 290X 4GB
It scored 157333.

GTX 970 4GB
It scored 156584.

R9 390X 8GB
It scored 167345.

As you can see, GTX 970 and R9 290X score the same since they are equal in performance. R9 390X score about 7% more than 290X.

Yeah the die is monstrous.

Can someone analyze the size of the die based on this clearer photo? That's actually my favorite form of speculation. Die size should give us a great chance as projecting performance.

A question though: Do we have any idea of how much die space HBM memory controller takes on-die for Fiji?

Photoshop and trolls run rampant online yet we believe every single rumor posted about this launch.... Lol.

It's almost amusing to see what cloudfire thinks after each rumor comes out

I`m here for your entertainment. :p

But seriously, both my benchmarks I posted above and Videocardz both show that 390X is about 5-10% faster than 290X.
If AMD made improvement regarding power consumption I have no idea yet.

Today WCCFTech say R9 390X will cost $499. Where will that put Radeon Fury X with HBM and 40-50% more cores? The rumored $849 posted countless times doesnt sound so crazy after all...
