Had an idiot at work with a big suv all ghettoed out who would do the exact same thing parking longways across more than 3 parking spots in a prime area. He would get hopping mad yelling at us everyday saying he was going to call the police. We just sat there and laughed at him. took him about a week to get the message. he parks way off in an empty part of the lot now.

There's no excuse for driving - or parking - like a complete moron.

If you don't want your car to get scratched, put a cover on it and leave it in the garage, then get someone else to drive. Your car WILL get scratched sooner or later, deal with it.

WTF is everyone's beef over it "only being" a Chevy? I'd rather drive my car than a POS Ford, Dodge, or some foreign car. Don't like the way I park? Too bad. It was originally something to ask a mere opinion, not an all out bash me, what I drive, or how I chose to park my car. To the people who agreed with me, thanks... I agree with the majority of the folks that you brought this upon yourself AMD but I have no idea where the over-the-top hostility is coming from. I've just gotten a new car too, don't cars in black look great? Always loved the look of the new Cavalier, especially the updated 2000 model, but there was no way I was going with a domestic this time around.

AmusedOne has some good tips on keeping your car ding-free that I've been unconciously following myself. I've never seen a ticket given for parking like this and I'm guessing if you parked way out there, there wasn't really a reason to give a ticket since there must have been a gazillion spots free other than the one immediately beside you? Sounds like that cop was being a bit anal, so my condolences.
