Shrug. They just sent me a letter saying they were dropping the price of my 20mbps internet from $62 to $54. Works for me.

Sometimes it's the only game in town.
It's all we can get for broadband.

When we moved here, I had comcast move our service from the old place to here. I owned my own modem.
They couldn't use my modem because the person who "activates/validates" it was off and it was Friday. So I had to use their modem. They wouldn't waive the $5 a month rental so I wnet with it to get service.

Next week came and I installed my modem and called them. They set it up and sent me a return label and box for the modem.
Six months later, they were still charging me for it. I was dreading calling them because their CS sucks so hard. I did and they fixed it without even an argument. I was shocked. While on the phone with them I ordered two digital adapters that I need since the changed their service. They told me it would take a week to get the boxes. The next day, there was a box on my doorstep. I was ready to sing their praises.

I installed the units and called to actiavte them. The voice prompt said that they were already activated and hung up on me. I had to call back to try to get them to work.
I get a CS agent and she ends up telling me that they sent the wrong units. She'll send out the right ones and a label.
I come back out to get online and while the rep was activating the wrong boxes, she shut off my internet. I couldn't get through that night and had to wait till the next day.

I can't wait for another broadband service to become available.

My Comcast experience has been pretty good. My only complaint is it's expensive as shit. $70 per month is too much for internet only imo. FIOS is in my area now, but they cost too much too, and I had an issue with Verizon in the past, which prompted my switch to Comcast :^D

same here - but FIOS and Comcast prices are about the same after the specials have expired. I have noticed that Comcast speeds go down between 5pm-10pm [due to heavy shared usage] - FIOS shouldn't suffer from the same issue [and I don't think FIOS has a download cap - but I'd never hit it as I don't torrent/file share].

You're going to run into issues with FIOS or Comcast or whatever internet service you use...

I'm going to be moving in a few weeks and will have to figure out a cable company. I believe my only options are Comcast or AT&T U-Verse...haven't heard much about U-Verse, but I'm not a big AT&T fan either. Thoughts?

I just can't understand irrational hate for the best ISP in the country. THEY are the ones making the most upgrades and improvements moving 80% of their customers to DOCSIS 3.0. You simply can't beat their performance for the price.

My neighbors recently switched to U-Verse, and I don't think they're particularly happy with it. It's expensive, the PQ doesn't look as good as Comcast in my opinion (I notice more compression artifacts). The set-top boxes are pretty nice, I'll give it that.

But, given the choice, I'm staying with Comcast.

idg the comcast hate... I had them for 4 years (2003-2007) and never had any issues. I only switched because I moved out of their coverage area and I've had way more problems with cablevision (starting with a tech cutting the wire running to my house about a week after I moved in)

THEY are the ones most behind. I wont go into the math right now, but when you are so low, you are the one with the most room for improvement. And you can absolutely beat their performance for the price, with damn near anyone else.

EDIT:
Wait, is my sarcasm meter broken?

I saw that one too.

It's a shame companies have to resort to that nowadays -- if the employees were injured they could have sued, hence Sprint's policy. I am not saying I agree with the firing at all, that's just the main reason I would guess.

Name just one MSO that has a higher percentage of docsis 3.0 rolled out. You can't. You probably can't even name a SSO with this much 3.0 coverage.

If I was sure Iii could get football with comcast, I'd likely dump my tv programming.

Comcast is the worst company I have ever dealt with in my life. They do not care about their customers around here from what I have seen. I have yet to see one person say positive things about them.

I am so grateful AT&T brought U-Verse here, it has been awesome with amazing customer service.

My picture quality with U-Verse is better than my comcast was. I had a minor issue fter the install and they were out the next day fixing it. It has been totally flawless since.

I pay $220 for internet, tv and phone. I am totally happy with what I get for my money.

Ok..I take what I said about Comcast - their Throttling technology makes downloading files damn near impossible unless you're paying for the insanely overpriced nose bleed speed:

Algorithm - "Oh..you just downloaded a huge file that took more than 15 minutes because you have the 15Mb/3Mb speed. I'm sorry..but I need to reduce your internet speed to 1kb/0kb for 15 minutes because I think you are trying to HOG the bandwidth in your neighborhood. Thank you and please keep using our stellar DOCSIS 3.0 high speed service!!"

F-this..I have no desire to have my bandwidth capped because I want to download something at the ADVERTISED [up to] rate only to have it reduced to 56k modem speed.
