And we're just supposed to forget that, and trust you as a group now? That's a bit much to ask, IMHO.

No shit? That would get a normal member perma'd.

Sorry, I misquoted it. The comment was that "the only time you should have your mouth open is when you're on your knees in front of me."

My mistake.

You guys are in for a shock if you think we are supposed to change our posting habits as regular members because of this change.
As oldsmoboat, I'll still call that jihad guy a tard.
As a Mod, I'll roll my eyes and move his thread.

IF someone esle said something like that (there has been a few cases of it happening) they would be banned. YET a mod can say it and its fine?

yeah i will roll my eyes at that bullshit.

Well, the guy who threatened to hit me got permabanned, pending an apology that he refused to give. So I guess some transgressions get dealt with, and some don't.

Are you telling us that won't change?

-----------------------------------------------------------
Disrepect toward anyone in that manner will not be tolerated.

I was the one that banned him pending the apology - which as you stated never came.
Under the new guidelines, I would still impose the same conditions and punishment.

Warnings may come before vacations are issued; it is up to the Moderator's discression on the need to bypass such a step.

Permabans have always been discussed before being implimented to ensure that the punishment is not unfair or should be reviewable.

What a bunch of drama queens we have here.

How is this going to affect your posting habits or your overall forum experience? Why get all bothered that some chose to remain hidden?

the idea behind the new change was to improve the trust etc. when many feel it is going to do the oppisot.

will it change my posting habits? hell no. if one of hte mods post a stupid argument i will say its a stupid argument (now that i know they are a mod).
Trust is a two way street.

Common Courtesy stated there are some members of AT that did not act proper related to business decisions

We have all seen how some members react to some Moderator decisions that they do not like.

He may feel that to expose the business as a Moderator is tossing gasoline on the fire.

If people have a complaint with the way he moderates; then take it up with the Mods and let them decide.

Ah, the star chamber defense...

I don't see what the big fuzz is about. It's a frigging forum, if you don't like what you see, you don't have to come back...

That mod needs to be called out, demoted, and banned.

I'd rather see the rules enforced properly, than see him banned or publicly embarrassed.

Of course that will change. We have always been accountable to each other and it will be even more so now. Stuff goes on behind the scenes that you don't see.

BTW, how's this for the new Mod style?

Agreed. "We want the members to know we're on their side, so here's everyone that's a moderator. Well, almost everyone, some didn't want to be known so we created new accounts for them so they can stay anonymous." Honestly, why even bother making the identities known when a few are still anonymous, does nothing to build trust, only cause suspicion.

yeap. sadly i have a feeling it will end like "change of culture" thread. mass banning and nothing changed.
How unfortunate. This seemed like such a positive step.

Guys, don't half-ass this. You want trust, make moderators public and accountable - you were 100% right in that step. If that person needs to be removed from the group because of a conflict, then that should happen - not a new exception for just a few people, which leads back to the exact same problem: That person is no longer directly accountable for their words.

There are plenty of reasonable, capable people to take their places if you remove emotion from the equation and look at this logically.

I love these forums,I really like young people in general and truly value many, many, many people here. Some of the thinghs that have been said about me,here and in other forums created to biatch about ATOT have left me literally in tears at times.

And before any of you start with the litany öh it's just the internet, grow a thicker skin" that same humanity that made me cry when I saw my wedding pic photoshopped to have me covered in spooge is the same humanity that allows me to merely edit a thread or lock it instead of vacationing,to argue for a second chance for a young person among the other mods.I'm not just a cyberpixel,I'm a living person who recognizes that there are other living people behind those keyboards out there.

Oh.. and the mods who still remain hidden? they do so out of fear of being sought out at their homes and hurt! We've actually had such an occurance and such fear is not paranoid or unrealistic.

Haha. I got a week for "In before the lock, out before the ban"

Edit: I hold no hard feelings and I was fully expecting one, but I wonder who it was.

You already got a week ban?! You've only been here 6 weeks.

I got a month ban for about 50 nefs ... that was awful. I also got a week for the nested  thread.

I always had a suspicion that KarenMarie was made a mod when she was made elite, now we shall see. She would make a good OT mod, nice and level headed. :)
