Wasteland 2 First Gameplay Footage!

small necro here but here goes...

in anticipation of Wasteland 2 i'm now playing Fallout Tactics and OH MY GOD! how did i not play this game 10 years ago??
widescreen modded and community patched, this game is A-May-Zing. i'm sinking dozens of hours into it and i'm about half way through. each mission takes me 4-5 hours because i like to do everything, kill everyone, and i basically crawl around on the ground all the time 😀
one issue though, it's REALLY stuttering on my computer, especially when going into buildings where the ceiling becomes transparent. looks like a memory management or asset loading issue since this game was designed to run on machines from 12 years ago...
 
I had a lot of fun with Tactics. It got a lot of hate when it was released, probably because people were waiting for a true successor to FO2 but I liked it.
 
I liked it too. It's closer to Jagged Alliance 2 than FO 1/2 and your squaddies have no personality, but the graphics were an upgrade from FO2 (better lighting mostly) and it had a decent story too.
 
That UI looks bad. I don't mean the design per se, but the really large, screen using size of it. It's great to see old classics making a come back, but that doesn't mean the old bulky UIs should be coming back too...
 
Game just popped up as early access on Steam. Not really sure how that applies to people who already contributed. I didn't back this, but did back the new Planescape game which came with this free.
 
as long as you donated at a level that had early access as a beni, all you need to do it log into your account at the Ranger Center. Your key will be there waiting for you.
 
I don't have the beta but watched bits and pieces of the videos being released of it, not enough to spoil anything though. It's looking great, a noticeable improvement even on the video of the prison.
 
Liking it so far. Some serious bugs, but then again that's what early beta is for. Doing my best to report them.
I'm having a good time with it. Can't wait for the finished product.
 
Have they mentioned an updated release date recently? Last I heard it was suppose to be sometime in Feb but aren't they delayed? Is it still alpha or is it really beta now ?

Beta's been out for a while now, they're making good progress.

They haven't set a hard date last I checked. It's still "we'll release it when we feel it's ready" thing. But it's definitely getting close. I'd be surprised if it wasn't here by April.
 
Gonna get it "free" when it's released since I pledged in the Tormenbt KS at this level.

Game look fantastic!
 
Bought it, I'm still early on in the game but it's awesome. It's like Fallout 3 should have been, only better. Fantastic fantastic work. Outstanding game!
