I love how all the clowns who rant and rave about Poltically Correct speech (C)Faux News go ballistic when everyone in the world doesn't celebrate their religious holidays with the same fevor they demand. Case in point-Google being blasted repeatedly for yesterday having a doodle celebrating Cesar Chavez's birthday instead of the (apparently mandatory) salute to Easter.

Of course, the whiners don't dare use anything like the term politically correct. Instead they claim it's a war on their beliefs.

Its Easter! Why would they think that its appropriate to have someone like chavez instead of something that is celebrated by millions around the world.

You think they just chose chavez or was it due to some kind of PC/anti-Christian bias. What reason would chavez be put on instead of Easter?

Can we just recycle the same thread every major christian holiday? It could save a lot of effort repeating the same point to the idiot OP that not everyone in the world has the same beliefs as you.

Yes and thats one of the reasons I made this thread because there are attempts to take Christianity out of Easter with the "Spring egg hunts" and other idiotic things.

Bonus points if you can legitimately explain what eggs have to do with the christian holiday you're so vigorously defending.

So just for the sake of trying to get down to your level of stupidity here. So if they call it "Spring egg hunt" but everything else is celebrated just like regular Easter. How is that taking Christanity out of it? To me it just sounds like a name change but nothing more.

But i can see how that would rain on your rage parade though.

Thats the problem, They should have honored Easter but instead they chose chavez

They can choose to "honor" whatever cause they want. It's a business. Just like a church chooses to honor what they want, because it's a business.

Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.

God's got his own birthday. Yesterday was Caesar's.

They don't have to honor shit.

Just because you say they need to honor Jesus Christ does not mean they have to.

Just like Christians seem to pick and choose which parts of the Bible they will honor.

show me one religion that does not.

Just goes to show all religions are lame and just pick and choose what to believe in thus not taking their religion very seriously. Especially Christanity as the bible is supposed to be the infalliable word of God and all, yet its followers think they know better than the God they believe in to pick and choose the parts that suit their lives the easist and dismissing the others.

Ya'll should be stoning people left and right :whiste:

If that is the case then how do you explain this passage? Were you in bible study class with Phokus by chance?

John 8 (New International Version)

1but Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. 2At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. 3The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group 4and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?” 6They were using this question as a trap,in order to have a basis for accusing him. But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. 7When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” 8Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground. 9At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. 10Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”

11“No one, sir,” she said.

“Then neither do I condemn you,”Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”

Sure, if I suffered from tunnel vision and thought that what I believed was the gospel and that nobody else should infringe upon that...then I'd be a zealot.

Nobody is taking Easter away. Let the kids look for Easter Eggs....why does everything have to be an uphill battle?

Egg Hunts do not have to be secular.

My Catholic church did one after Easter mass. Complete with someone dressed up as the Easter bunny. And our priest is super conservative. Apparently he didn't have an issue with incorporating some secular aspects to get people to show up.

And no, they didn't call it a "spring egg drop" or whatever.

John 8:1-11 were later added and are not part of the Vatican 1209 or Sinaitic Manuscript, hence, they have found to have been fakes.

Actually, it starts at John 7:53 and ends at 8:11.

These are omitted, or should be and not used.

Politically Correct mandating individuals like YOU are the problem-insisting that no one else has the right to choose what they will celebrate a day for. Ever heard of free speech? If Google decides to celebrate Cesar Chavez yesterday it is not your business or your right to impose your opinion or beliefs upon them. And to declare their decision a "war" upon your religious beliefs is absurd.

But like so many righties you are so self-centered that you will never understand that rights are for all, not just for you and your fellow travelers.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Papias_of_Hierapolis

Eusebius states that Papias "reproduces a story about a woman falsely accused before the Lord of many sins." J. B. Lightfoot identified this story with the Pericope Adulterae, and included it in his collection of fragments of Papias' work. However, Michael W. Holmes has pointed out that it is not certain "that Papias knew the story in precisely this form, inasmuch as it now appears that at least two independent stories about Jesus and a sinful woman circulated among Christians in the first two centuries of the church, so that the traditional form found in many New Testament manuscripts may well represent a conflation of two independent shorter, earlier versions of the incident."[11]
