This is my thoughts too...would rather play WotLK when it comes out..but that is my opinion.

Hopefully Warhammer lasts longer then AoC!

It's not that you'll be required to speak in High English (thees and thous) or anything like that. It's more so that there's recourse against people who make stupid names like IpwnzJoo the Black Orc or something. You're more or less required to stay in line with what your character is as far as naming goes. So, naming a Marauder "Sir Psycho Sexy" wouldn't really fly.

Coincidentally, I'll be rolling a zealot on Phoenix Throne.

Was there a time limit for applying head-start keys or something? I applied my CE head-start key yesterday and couldn't get in at all, I figured I didn't put it in early enough or something but maybe I'm missing something.

I don't really care either way (about WAR vs. WoW) but you come across as the biggest troll I've ever seen in these forums... and they let you get away with it which is somewhat shocking. When I read your posts I feel like I'm reading the WoW forums.

Anyone in the headstart care to comment on how the quality is at all? Is it pretty much the same as the last days of open beta, are there any bad bugs or lag or anything?

I tried out the beta, but I don't know how well I like it yet. I have a CE key (friend had an extra) and rolled a new swordmaster yesterday.

I like the public quest and the fact that they can reset within a few minutes. The RVR isn't bad. Some nice loot can be had if you get a good roll on the need/greed/pass option. Too bad the chaos side seem to do better at it or the order teams I got stuck with are just plain inept.
I can't compare to WoW since I never played. I think the last swords & shields MMO I actually tried playing (besides AoC...ugghh) was LineageII.
2 very different games to say the least.
Maybe I haven't played enough War to have it stick to me, but so far and I'm neither overly impressed or underwhelmed.

The lag was there yet playable. I bet that it was due to so many people crammed into the beginning areas. It kind of followed you since everyone was trucking along at the same pace.

I have an AMD 3700+ 2GB RAM and 8800GTS (320MB) computer right now. Can anyone with a similar setup comment on how well, or poorly, the game runs? Thank you.

The game will run passably.

You'll probably get performance numbers similar to what you'd get in Oblivion (they use the same engine: Gamebryo).

should be alright. running 8800gt (512) with 2gb ram... starts to slow down a bit in the open world if i crank anti alias up to 16x.

edit: and that's after i have everything else in WAR cranked to the max (ie, terrain draw distance, shadows)

DAoC does, and I have no expectation that Mythic would adopt something new.
