The fact it isn't a good flag is why it is probably so popular...In the end, the calls to ban it are excessive. But obviously it should NEVER be used in a public place w/ government money.

I think Germany wimped out on banning the nazi flag. I completely understand why they didn't want it around, but I feel they are trying to "forget" their past and can't even imagine how to approach it, so they are sliding it under the rug. If the problem is that neo-nazi's use it as a tool...the problem isn't the flag, it's the fact they still have neo-nazi's running around.

Can you even shoot hitler in a PC game in Germany?


Try to imagine playing Sid Meier's Gettysburg! without the rebel flag. What the hell kind of a unhistorical game would that be?

Maybe walmart should stop selling qurans and bibles? Surely the store does not want to be associated with terrorism and genocide in the name of religion?

In the past 15 years or so (pre 9/11) how many people have been killed in the name of the Allah as compared to the confederate flag?

While they are at it stop selling tobacco products and red meat? I am pretty sure lung cancer and heart disease kills more people that southerners still fighting the civil war?

What about sugary drinks such as pepsi and coke? The nation is fighting an obesity epidemic. How many people die due to diabetes related illnesses as compared to the confederate flag?

You do not have to answer those questions.

One kid kills fewer people than tobacco related deaths does everyday, but the nation wants to make a big deal out of a flag?

We as a nation need to get our priorities straight. Place the blame where it belongs and that is the shooter. The flag had nothing to do with it.

That flag is a symbol for oppression, human rights violations and outright murder of a specific race. So very, very sorry that we are finally pulling our heads out of our collective asses and recognizing it for what it is, a symbol of hate.

It is really diverse in its meaning to people. That is one reason I never assume that person is racist when I see one. Doing so means I have prejudged someone without every knowing them, which I don't believe you should ever do.

With the emotional high people are on and Walmart not being just a small local Southern store, it doesn't really surprise me that Walmart will stop selling it. I actually don't recall seeing it in a Walmart recently anyway if ever.

I am curious to see what will happen when SC takes down the flag. Will there be ceremony? If so, will it be protested? What museum will it be placed in? What of the memorial itself, it is taller than the flag pole.

Hmmmmm I've see the Confederate flag being displayed throughout the US and the north and midwest is no different than the south. Why is it that we don't see rampant violence amongst those who display this flag?

the Quran and the Bible represent different things to billions of different people around the world.

all the Confederate flag represents is a symbol of a failed nation that broke away from the United States so they could continue to enslave people.

Good, then that means we will see a lot less of them hung up instead of curtains in broken down trailers windows. It's about time wally stopped carrying them at a rollback price just so someone can buy them in bulk.

Oh, and the Confederates better stock up on this cheap knockoff one, because it may be out of stock soon.

Like they're not available elsewhere. I would venture to say less than 2% of the Confederate flags that are purchased throughout the US were bought at Walmart or Sears.
