I went to the verizon site and their "validate my address" thing doesn't work. It gets in an endless loop where it checks then asks me to enter my address again.

WTF. I want out of time warner and at&t.

that's not a bad deal. Did you talk them down?

Same problem for me. I would love to get rid AT&T and Dish Network.

Yeah these kinds of things effing piss me off. Do web programmers not do basic QA before releasing web apps into the wild?

I wish I could get FIOS, but I live 60+ miles west of DC. I'll see it sometime in the next 50 years. I can't even get DSL because I'm too far away from the closest hub.

We have actually been deploying in areas that only had satellite. An all fiber network can cover more than twice the distance than what is current. Ive worked on areas were we put fiber to houses that are like a mile apart.

Its not just equipment or else it would spreading many times faster. Its slowed down because we have lots of contracts and regulations to follow.

I dunno about AT&T....they're taking the cheap way out and only doing fiber half way, and copper the rest. Comcast, from what I"ve heard, is laying down fiber too. Difference is that they're rolling out Tivo boxes in the next few months, whereas ATT is using some microsoft based dvr crap on theirs.

No FIOS here. In fact, I think the only place in Florida that has FIOS is Tampa.

Why can't I check my address? Everytime I put in my address..I get "You must use a street address. Please do not use a P.O. Box." I don't live at P.O. Box

Going to call and order FIOS now, Up to 20 Mbps/5 Mbps for the same price (50$). Just as long as it is not one of those stupid "for the first 6 month things".
I call shens on that. I'd be willing to bet you'd pay $75 a month for FIOS and not say a damn word :D.

Congrats!

Just checked, it is a one year agreement, that price for the whole year.

Yep one year only at that price; but it only goes up 5 bucks a month after that; could be worse. Better than comcast.

I love my Fios

i won't see FIOS for at least a decade, if ever, because Toledo, Ohio does not have Verizon land-line service, which means no Verizon DSL and no FIOS. :(
i had talked to them once I believe, and I think they said they won't be offering phone service in Toledo in any foreseeable amount of time, and said because of that, no FIOS.
