why would they scan the UPC for you? It has their serial # on it....it would void their rebate if you sent it in.

I just checked the BB site and they are once again NOT taking orders for the 180B5. I am beginning to believe that unless you already have your laptop, you ain't gonna get a laptop...at least not this one.

I'd love to get a scan of the UPC Only portion (not your serial number) for the 180B5 if anyone would be so kind. :)

Thanks!

Will that do you any good? I would assume you need the serial number bar code from the UPC as well...

Damn....I just got an email from BB....my status has gone from On Order to now Backordered. Not sure what this means (except that I will most likely not be getting one of these!!).

backorder means they r gonna keep a hold on ur CC for another 30 days or so. that's typical beastbuy style, first "on order", then "backorder" and then "cancellation".

I just got back from the Bestbuy trying to get them to rering the sale for the rebate.

The first CS rep. wants to charge me $50 more because the price went from $950 to $999. After trying to explained to him over and over again, he still wants to charge me $50 more+tax. BTW I got mine on 2/5 for $798 because mine was open box and missing power adpator. He then asked another guy for back up... He said the same but the 1st guy didn't even explain well what I am trying to do. Then I asked for a manager. She came, 1st rep talked to her, then I again explained to her what I am trying to do.

"I placed an online order for this back on 2/5 with in store pick up because there was a $200 online rebate for it. Got to the store, you only have an opened box with the power adaptor missing. So you guys gave me $150 off. Total cost $798 + tax. I called your toll free number today about the $200 rebate but she said I can't get that because they had to rerang the sale in store to give me the opened box price. But there is a $100 in store rebate for laptop purchase. I will get able to do that rebate as long as I have the UPC which I have the roginal box and the in store receipt dated within the time frame. So all I am trying to do here is to have my sale rering."

The Manager again said how the price went up $50 more and they can only take $150 off bla bla bla... Our talk went on and on... She then said "wait a sec please". She came back 5-10 mins later said, "I tell you what since we have to mark $200 off $999 to give you the same price, you won't be able to get anymore discount for this." I said fine. Another CS rep return the purchase for me and rering the whole sale. This time a rebate receipt and rebate form printed out. Anyway I am glad I can get the $100 rebate :) As for the power adaptor, VPR is sending me a replacement since I told them "mine" is broken. Finally price should be $798-$100 = $698 for my 180B5 :)

When did you order your laptop? Was it a 170 or 180?

The $100 rebate says specifically "not applicable to previous purchases, clearance, or open box items". If your receipt mentions any of that it's a goner.

lol, I doubt it... Considering at the store all the price tags on the clearance items have printed rebate information.

Unlike my old receipt, my new receipt and rebate receipt don't even mention open box at all. And the rebate form was printed from the register after I repurchased it.

Ya, if it prints out a rebate form you are almost guaranteed to get the rebate...

I went to BB to drop my $200 warranty, tonight.

Mine was an open-box 170B4 for $711, which the guy discounted to $599. He then knocked off another $100 to convince me to take the 3-year warranty ($200). Total with the warranty was $729. I had a $100 Xmas GC, so it only cost me $629. Then I dropped the $200 warranty (they didn't even catch on to the fact that it was reduced an extra $100 as an incentive for me to buy the warranty) tonight, so my total for the 170b4 was $429.

What a deal!

Now, if I could just figure out how to get in on that $100 rebate.... ;)

It's a pain in the butt, but they do pay... It just takes a long time and you need to send lots of paperwork...

mine was open boxed and didn't have an adaptor, can you walk me through how you were able to convince them yours broke please?
oh, and is this through the psp of best buy, or through vpr matrix customer support?
