For those of you in the bay area:
170B4 - Modesto (2), Union City (3), & Emeryville (2)
180B5 - Fairfield (1), Tracy (1), Modesto (1)

Always keep in mind that (1) probably means display and since these items are discountinued, you can get 10% for open-item pricing.

Like I said, if you go to your local Best Buy, you can find out all of this information. Just ask them to look for it on their computers. Just like any multi-billion dollar retail store, their inventory is done on their computers. And if you want to double check the price, have them price check the sku # which should be 4781837 (170B4) and 4782505 (180B5).

Just got back from Best Buy in Fredericksburg, VA.

The prices are now even lower!

170B4 - $711.99 (saw 3 or 4 in the cage)

180B5 - $948.99 (none left)

I picked up the 180B5, but it was the last one, a display model.

I negotiatied an open box price of $699. It does have some scratches on the case I might try to buff.

Nonetheless, this was a sweet deal

HIGHLY YMMV DEAL

I ordered a 180B5 online, $1328.99 - $200 MIR. Selected in-store pickup.
BB's system adjusted my price to match in-store $948.99.

$948.99 - $200MIR = $748.99 😀 😀 😀

Just got the 180B5 for $798. It was an opened box missing the power adaptor. When they open the box, it was brand new??? The adaptor cost $49 at Bestbuy.com with free shipping.

Going to try to get the $200 MIR.... Not sure if that will work.

They also talked me into the $200 3 year service plan... should I keep the service???

Rabate for online only or in store too?

I did the instore pick up, but they only have the opened box I bought.... So they have to rering it instore...

Hope I can get the rebate...

I just came back from bestbuy and saw the widescreen version of the Laptop. I think I will get the widescreen one when I go back to school on Fall. 🙂

I'm glad people are starting to take advantage of this. I thought I was crazy for a moment and thought it was only me who got that kind of pricing. Anyways, the widescreen is nice, but not at a $500+ price increase. Especially when all you get from the 180B5 to the 185A5 is the widescreen and USB 2.0.

I wonder what they will do if I put a note explaing what happen... may be they will honor the rebate for me...

I have a quick question...is the video memory DDR? If you bought the 170B4 could you upgrade the video in it?

It should be DDR for the Radeon 7500. It might be upgradable...

BTW these laptop are nice. I love their style much better then the Toshiba and IBM I have now. The magnesium case make it feel like an Apple PowerBook! 🙂

this is SUPER hot.. I'll try order online and pickup at store.. see if I can get the price adjustment...

Like kinkyboy702 said, most of these are display models. Mine was in a box locked up above the computer counter and still has the protective cover for the screen... Missing the power adaptor some how... So I was able to talk them into giving me discount. The battery is charged so I was able to power it up before buying. I just ordered a new adpator from Bestbuy.com for $49 with free shipping. And I guess I will just keep the $200 3 year service. Easier to sell a laptop with service included down the road.

Thanks kinkyboy702 for this sweet deal 🙂
