NJ is 100 feet, and access can not be impeded.


To add more detail: My polling place is the local middle school. There are/were no signs on school property, but there were a decent number on trees and lawns in the neighborhood.

And since this was a church, wouldn't having political signage on their property risk their non-profit status?

No, because it is almost certain that the church didn't put them there.

I was driving past one of our churches last night and saw people putting up campaign signs.

I assume the church is a voting place, like you I wondered why people were putting signs so close to it.

I am sitting this one out. I am afraid to be labeled an enemy by the obama administration. I do not agree with his big government agenda and would surely vote against that at the polls.

I arrived shortly after 8am. There were 280 people that had voted before me. Took me a total of 15 minutes from getting out of my car until getting back in. Not bad at all.

Should be a very good voter turnout around here. 280 people in a little over an hour is decent but most people vote later in the day.

Voted at 7:30. I was ~450th to vote so far. Parking lot was packed.

Yeah, there were a ton of Republican signs illegally close to my polling place. Meh.

I always go up and shake the hands of every local candidate from every party who might be standing out front. And I go to all the tables and listen to whatever they or their supporters might have to say. Why not? We're all Americans. I'm old school civil that way.

Lol, we have this startling advance in election technology called the secret ballot. After well over 200 years, it's even moved out of beta. 😉
 
Polls open 6am in NJ. I am usually in the door most voting days at 6:05am on my way to work. As soon as I arrived, so did 10 other cars...never seen that before. So I'm guessing turnout will be higher than avg.
 
I don't know about you guys, but my post office mailbox was JAM PACKED this morning!!

no room for the victoria secret catalogs. talk about a bunch of angry mail-in ballots!!
 
At my polling place today(a junior high school), I couldn't even find it. There were no signs or anything. I finally went to the office and they had me walk to the other side of the school where it was...with no parking anywhere near it.

Place was supposed to open at 7am, but the people running it were morons and it didn't end up opening until about 7:10. I was the 5th person to stick my ballot in the little thing and there was no one waiting in line when I left. I suspect that more people will show up later in the day.
 
I'm going to miss the old voting booth where you pull the levers. 🙁 I even took pictures of it last year. (Because it was held together by bailing twine.)
Heading home, then I'll walk over to the village hall. I should be roughly the only person in line when I get there.
 
As usual I voted in the same ole rural precinct which happens to be a church. Does it really matter when I voted? There are seldom any lines so I waited until 3PM.

But shock and amazement, for the first time in my life I got exit polled by CNN. The exit poller seemed a nice enough fellow and certainly not pushy in any way, my wife declined, but what the hay, I filled it out anyway.

No I did not ask any relative turn out questions, nor will I stay up all night awaiting the outcome in tight races, the outcome will be the outcome with or without any premature pessamism.

At least I voted and canceled out the vote of one corresponding idiot on other side.
