Yeah, just got the letter. 25 points for $25 Amazon or BB gift certificate is awesome. That will be easy especially since my whole family already wants it. Nice job SR.

Help a brother out and use mine instead :)

PM me to get all the goodies in the current promo, plus it helps me get the referral bonus.
As a thank you, I'll [try] to answer any question you may have about SR or the gizmo.

Seriously, people should stop using the standard promo codes immediately. To the person signing up you still get everything the same on your end and you'll be hooking up a fellow AT'er at the same time.

Hey SoulAssassin-

I called Sunrocket today because I signed up 4 people with Sunrocket over the last 2 weeks and then received their announcement e-mail of their rewards program a few days ago. They asked me to give them the people's names and promptly pumped 100 Reward points onto my account without any extra verification. You should do that with your co-worker's name.

SR has been great. I've tried it for 4 weeks now. Nothing but flawless so far. The phones are great, IMO. The 2 incoming phone numbers with individual voice mail boxes, the 100 free minutes per month to Germany and England, which I'll be using. Now the rewards which will allow me to recoup even the low $199.00 in no time. Best thing going. With these awesome promotions and rock bottom price SR should become one of the VOIP leaders. Needless to say, my $70 per month Verizon line went onto the trash heap. Good riddance. I would have chosen SR if it had just matched the $70.00 per month I was paying Verizon, couldn't wait to dump them for all the garbage they made me go through over the years.

2 improvements on the Sunrocket Manager as of today, 4/22/2005:

It was mentioned that the signature number HAS to be in the same area code, which was true until today. They must have fixed the issue (I was told it was a 911 thing) because today the ANYWHERE number has become available again. For the SIGNATURE number you may once again choose any available area code in the country.

Here: http://www.sunrocket.com/services/additional/

Also, the CONTACT area has received one revision with a nice added convenience feature: You can now SAVE any number from the Call Log into your Contact list with a click of a button to aid with personalized Caller ID, Speed Dialing, Group placement, etc.

I've been using the service for a few weeks now and no real problems. Quite satisfied.

Does anyone know how to have the "notification light" on the Uniden phone flash, when there is a waiting voicemail message.

I understand it's supposed to do that, but doesn't. Is there a certain notificatin option on the website?

Thanks for your help

I am just about ready to jum in, I have a code number for the free multi-handset phone system which expires in a few days. Are there any other promotions that I should know before I get in the wagon?
Thanks.

RE: the referral thing...

By now, I ought to have a house full of free phones and nearly own BB with a portfolio full of $25 Certificates.

I got the same letter and I know enough not to beg for referrals in this forum! :disgust:

Speaking of referrals, it appears that user referral benefits a new user by adding one more handset to the "deal sweetener."

From SunRocket's "Rocket Rewards" page in the "Refer a Friend" section:

QUOTING SUNROCKET:

PLUS, your friend will receive a free
Uniden Cordless Phone System with two extra handsets!

It appears that the referral deal nets the brandnew signee a phone system with 3 phones (base unit plus two satellite phones.)

I called Sunrocket to ask about this and after looking over the Rewards page the CS rep agreed that now they are giving out 3 phones instead of 2.

I do not believe that there is a notification option - it is just supposed to work. I had a problem where the website did not show that I had messages waiting, even though there were messages, and the notification light did not blink. This happened immediately after they transferred my POTS number to SunRocket - it was working before that. The tech support rep had me disconnect my gizmo for an hour and then reconnect. I also deleted all the voicemail accounts on the website and set them up again. Everything is working perfectly now.

If you are afraid of the yearly signup,
The promo code WBFOGQ allows a $19.95 monthly rate
instead of the $24.95 and still includes the free phones.

I'm glad that the signature number can now be in a different area code than the primary number, but I'm waiting for a number in the Tidewater area of Virginia (Hampton, Newport News, Williamsburg, etc.). I'm surprised that SunRocket, based in Northern Virginia, hasn't yet reached into this market!

I signed up for a year and it seems to be working fine. Note quite as clear as I had hoped, but still okay.

is there an easy way to change the signature number (ie to a different area code) or do you have to email customer service?

I cannot imagine this being accomplished without contacting SR CS. :D:D:D

Here's an interesting problem with my SunRocket setup, but take it with a grain of salt as I've never experienced it personally, just my gf:

Every time my gf has made a call to a large company's customer service department (a lot because we just moved), she gets disconnected. She'll make it through to a live person, start a conversation and get disconnected. Calls never last more than 5 minutes and end with a rapid beeping sound. Internet connection is perfect. We've made many multi-hour calls and the setup is otherwise stable. Happens with gizmo both in front of and behind our router (WRT54G), I normally keep it behind the router. It has happened with TimeWarner, Cingular, and ConEd. I'm really at a loss as to what could be causing it. I'm going to contact SR support, but just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.
