I haven't received any telemarketing calls yet... :keeps fingers crossed: Do you guys get many?

uurda - yeah, keep talking to them. I am sure they will help eventually since overall their customer service is better than any company I have dealt with. Good Luck.

Mine's been pretty bad the last few days too. I notice the mgmt light is flashing almost all the time now, which it didn't before...

Has anyone noticed a strange number as an outgoing call on their call log? (873) 224-2000, at like 2 AM. If I call it I get a fast busy tone. Does the Gizmo "dial home"? :)

Anyone noticed that if you dial your own numbers and then FLASH and then hang up, the phone rings back to you?

Then, I saw a bunch of blank voice mails some were 30 or even 70 seconds? Wierd isn't it? It's like you are dialing your own number, the voicemail answers, and then it thinks you are using it, then when you flash, it thinks you are on another call, so when you hang up it rings back to you. But it's wierd there are these long messages afterwards.

I'm having problems with my answering machine/s picking up when SR rings. I just had my POTS line disconnected and my answering machine is hooked up, but it won't pick up at all. It's set to 2 rings. I know that machine had some issues with picking up, and I even had to add some resistor inside to make it pick up. So I hooked up another machine (old and untested) and it won't pick up either. Is there something wierd about the SR ring frequency or voltage that might cause this?

The phones I have ring fine...

Anyone else noticed such a problem?

P.S. This is the regular ring--not distinctive that I'm trying.

That number showed up on my call-log soon after I got my gizmo, back in February -- but I haven't seen it in March or April.
I have no idea what it's all about.

edit: to comment on your other comments....
The flash/blank-message/ring thing you describe is what I would expect.
You dial your number, hit flash (so it rings and rings, till voice mail picks up to record blank air) Then you "hang-up" -- but your call-waiting is still active, so it rings you to connect you back to your voice-mail, which by this time has cut you off thinking your done talking. Nothing weird about that.

I also have an external answering machine hooked up to the gizmo. No problems for me.
I've only had one call leave a message (myself) and the recorded voice quality was very bad, but I think it was a low-battery in the phone I used to call it. Will try again after the battery charges.

Im new at this, but it could be the voltage is too low if you have physically disconnected your POTS line to your house.

"If ringing is the issue (it typically is), the only ways to solve it are to remove phones from the circuit, reduce the total amount of wiring in the circuit (lower line resistance) or to add a ?Ring booster? type device to the line. These devices cost anywhere from $100-$300 but are a far cry from rewiring your house! You can also of course just go with multi-handset cordless phones or the like which will reduce the number of phones on the circuit without reducing the number of handsets."

This is the number that calls are forwarded to voicemail with... it's not a big deal. Confirmed by SR tech support.

I think they were BS'ing you, or their tracking has a glitch.
If it were true, there'd be a "missed" or "incoming" call just before it in the log.

I let it slide because it was early in my signing-up, when they were doing site changes, AND experiencing the AT Effect. I'll question it if I ever see it again.

I have time warner in new york, and I finally was able to call them yesterday, and things seem to have gotten better (Even though all they did was run a line test and tell me there is no problem, and then schedule a tech to come next weekend).

I filled out the online request to port my phone number over to my SunRocket account on April 4. They said that they submitted it on April 12 and today, April 20, it has been successfully ported over!

Question: Do I have to contact my local phone company and tell them to discontinue my service, or will they do that automatically since SunRocket ported my number over?

From Sunrocket's website:

Please do not cancel your existing service with your current local and/or long distance carrier. SunRocket will handle cancellation of both your local and long distance accounts for you. Canceling these services yourself can result in a disruption of the transfer.

I believe that when your old carrier releases the number to SunRocket, the service is cancelled. You can try calling them to make sure that service is cancelled however (to make sure you do not receive a bill next month). In case it is not, call SunRocket and let them know.
