I think Yahoo Widgets is better than the sidebar.

More widgets (aka gadgets), and more of um' are tried and true because of updates.
True, but give it time. Hell, with the sidebar being included in Vista, it probably already has more "users" in 5 days than Yahoo Widgets has in it's lifetime.

Bah from what I've heard and now the screenshots (few) posted here, I'm not interested in it much at all. I too go to one of the schools that put up Vista Business recently but NO Office 2007. Some Office 2k7 stuff got posted like Visio, Access, OneNote, etc.. but Office 2007 itself (Word, Excel, Powerpoint is what I use) is not there and probably won't be! 🙁 I'd rather have Office 2007 ten times over Vista anything. I've tried Konfabulator before and most of the widgets were quite useless (don't need an analog clock, weather, cpu/temp status) and it seems Vista has almost the exact same thing. Besides any behind the scenes stuff, I don't think it'd be any better than XP. XP is rock-solid, good driver support and doesn't have such high system requirements. With Vista, even if my hardware and software all worked without issue, I'd likely be noticing a performance drop in most games, at least until everything matures maybe.

edit: Hmm... the MSDN AA site FAQ says Office is not part of the program. But I have heard some people saying they've gotten it from their university subscription with MSDN AA, but quite a bit less common than Vista Business that most all got.

I love how there are like 5 actual Vista shots in this thread 😛

I'd love to post a picture of mine, but my desktop is in 1000 pieces right now. I was about to start my water cooling project yesterday (Swiftech H20-220 APEX Ultra Plus) but something came up and I haven't really had the time. I'm busy all week and next weekend I'm taking a short trip, so if I'm lucky I might be able to do it the weekend of the 17th.

that said, this same pc running beryl looks every bit as good as vista, except for the lack of anti-aliasing🙁

Man, the latest release of beryl is uber fast. All the minimizing and other eye candy looks so much better then the prev. version.

I'm running in XP right now, & i don't feel like rebooting to go into Vista.

I'll add my Vista desktop next time i'm in Vista.

msdnaa doesn't have office

I'd be using vista, if i could figure out how to dl from msdnaa.

My school has vista up, but i can't figure it out.
Oh well, no biggie.

I've never understood the point of a clock widget. There's a clock in the bottom right hand corner that's always visible and easy to check...
