Hmm.....I dunno if I'd call a vista desktop 1337. Wait for Leopard, then start making comparisions between the windows and the mac again, because quite frankly, OS X's tiger should be compared to XP SP2. I'll probably install Vista in bootcamp when SP1 comes around, but not before I pick up a copy of leopard.

I fail to see how Vista is awesome at all. Welcome to a half-assed version of OSX.

1024x768?

*snicker*

yea, yea. Its an old 15" LCD monitor that I've had for about 6 years now. I've been meaning to upgrade it, but come on - I'm a college student, most of my money goes to beer, video games, and ramen.

If Vista was just like OSX I would be all over Windows XP SP3.

Heh...thus why it's a half-assed version of OS X, he never said it was just like it.

Dang is your girl nekid in that pic?

Oh and is vista worth it? Debating on sticking with XP, going to vista or even trying out mac.

I like vista, but I'd make sure you have decent non-beta drivers for your hardware before switching.

I'm having a mystery problem with my computer not waking up from sleep mode, and I blame one of the beta drivers I'm using for that.

LOL, no she isn't nekkid :D She's wearing her bikini top without the straps attached.

As for it being worth it. All of my hardware works and all of my peripherals are correctly identified (or I downloaded drivers for them). All of my software works (my iPod won't sync for some reason though with iTunes even though it's identified).

That being said, I'm not really seeing where my $159 went for the Home Premium Upgrade. I'm not doing anything with Vista that I couldn't do with XP before.

So in a way, it's not really worth it at all.

Well, not for me at least. Most of the new stuff is visual (taskbar previews, Flip3D, Aero UI), etc. The only new feature that I REALLY take advantage of is the sidebar, but even that is kinda superfluous.

I think Yahoo Widgets is better than the sidebar.

More widgets (aka gadgets), and more of um' are tried and true because of updates.

So really, the only thing that Vista has to offer are the "behind the scenes" features like security and stuff.
