Hey, just got mine the other day. Now I'd swear the Gateway site said it CAME with the DVD software, but in my box was a card where I can send for it by enclsoing my UPC. Now as someone at Visiontek surely knows, xerox UPC's aren't allowed for the $50 rebate. So do we have to choose one, or has anyone gotten the dvd software using a xerox of their UPC?

BTW, I checked Gateway/NECX to see just what the Visiontek page said and it was gone. Did we sell them out or are they destroying the evidence on this?:frown:

I think this is the way all VisionTek cards are packed. I got my 6564 at uBid ($129+11 shipping, -50 rebate) and was bummed that I couldn't send in for the PowerDVD. I'm going to call VisionTek on this to see if I can mail in a photocopy of the UPC (all I have left, as the rebate went in a few days ago).

Then again, I don't have a DVD drive yet. ;)

Do as Jjordan said above for the receipt and hudster you are correct about the info for Age of Empires to get the rebate, I called the MS rebate center and that is what I was told to do. To whoever was asking about the Dark Majesty software, you got the wrong one. The original Asheron's Call is the only one that had a rebate. It went OOS within hours of this thread's conception. I backordered it with the Ti200, but then received an e-mail saying they would not be shipping it as they would not be restocking, so they pro-rated the $50 instant rebate to like $46 because the order now didn't reach $199.

Those of you that sent in the 50 dolllar rebate for the Visiontek Xtasy6564 card, have you heard anything from the rebate center yet? I called them up a few days ago and they said that they don't handle the march rebates currently or something like that. They suggested that I call them back in 2-3 weeks and check again. Think I'll give them a call tomorrow and see if the rebate is in fact going through. Hate to get screwed over after waiting all this time for the silly rebate from the Gateway Xtasy 6564 Deal.

Oh yeah, I tried to check the status of the rebate on www.wheresmyrebate.com it doesn't come up on the search.

Unfortunately yes, the rebate's expired a while ago. I'm just asking the people that was able to get in on this deal whether they heard from anything from their rebate yet.

My status showed up yesterday as "DENIED," the reason being that I had allegedly not enclosed a receipt. I had used the Order Statement printable from the Gateway Accessories website and which is stated by Gateway as being its receipt for purchases.

I called www.wheresmyrebate.com (which should be called www.goodluckevergettingyourrebate.com) and was told that the manufacturer requires a "shipping invoice with an invoice number" in order to process the rebate. I questioned this, given that the rebate form says only the UPC and store receipt are required. I also am not sure whether the packing slip from Gateway even satisfies this requirement since it contains no "invoice number." The CSR got rather indignant and would only say "Sir, this is what my manager has told me the manufacturer requires."

I ended up sending an email to Kathy at Visiontek customer service explaining what happened. She was nice enough to respond right away saying that she would contact Wheresmyrebate and authorize fulfillment of my rebate. My status has not yet changed from "DENIED" on their website, but I am hopeful this remedies the problem.

I actually have 5 rebates pending with WheresMyRebate, 3 of which have been denied for reasons that are completely erroneous (e.g. purchase date outside of rebate period, even though receipt clearly shows the contrary). These people are totally inept! I intend to notify OfficeDepot, VisionTek, etc. of how poorly these people represent their companies.

Apparently the New Rochelle rebate house is ready to strike again! Glad I noted a caveat with these bad boys at the beginning of this thread. Definitely the sleaziest outfit for using false reasons for denying rebates. When I file rebates with them, I send in almost everything except the bag/delivery box the purchase came in, just so that they won't tell me I erred by not sending in some unrequested . It's always a cr@p shoot with these jerks.

That happened to me i was "DENID" for the receipt i printed from Gateway so i faxed the packing slip i wll see what will happen. i will give the a few days then i will be on the phone.

Denied here as well - -what is the fax number you used -- I mailed the Packing Slip with a Nasty Gram asking how they got the Store I purchsed it from and date of purcahse if they did not have a receipt. I have tried calling a few times to complain but the line is ALWAYS busy.

The fax # is 914-633-8772 and sent a note as well. Everybody send your packing slip and give them the anantech affect.

As a point of reference - I purchased my GF3 card at CompUSA on 2/28 and sent the rebate in on 3/17. I checked my status at wheresmyrebate.com and it shows up as being approved, with an estimated check mail date of 6/4/02. So, I should be getting the check in October.

Just to let people know i had faxed my packing slip last week and now my rebate is "APPROVED". But my check est is 6/10/02. If you faxed your slip keep checking back.

they gave my DENIED reason as no date on my invoice..lol..saying not purchased in the time frame specified..guess I'll send my cc billing statement to them for a "time frame specified" referring point maybe they'll be able to comprehend that in conjunction with a printout of the webpage showing date purchased.....maybe :( anything to stall/negate should be the New Rochelle's motto. Ok... so I know this is an old thread but I just checked wheresmyrebate.com again and I was denied. The reason was that I didn't include a store receipt.

Well I bought the card from gateway's online store and I did include both the online order statement AND the packing receipt.

I try calling the number listed on the rebate form and it just rings for several minutes... no answer. Same thing with the number listed on the wheresmyrebate.com contact page.

What gives??? And what do I do now? Just keep calling? Will they ever answer?

I got my rebate APPROVED by writing to kathy Nulkin who is the perosn that toldme the rebate would be valid at gateway, not only CompUSA. I faxed in the packing Slip too, but the same day she wrote back to me and said she had sent my name and address in, my rebate showed up as approved. Maybe it was a coincidence.

Well I got through to the rebate center and now they want me to fax my packing slip which WAS included with the original rebate form I sent it. Ill send it to them again and hopefully they will make things right.
