I liked it but it reminds me a bit of how I felt about Spartacus when it first came out - if it didn't have super hot women and blood and guts I wouldn't watch it. Spartacus got better though and I think this will too. Good start.

Its a pretty good show. You can watch the episodes that already aired on The History Channel website. I think I'll wait for the season to finish before I watch any more.

i watched the 2nd episode and still not that impressed yet.

still going too slow and not really anything interesting or exciting happening.

so they find the western lands, raid a small church, no fighting, just slaughter the priests and save some for slaves, then sail back...woop de doo.

the previews are misleading because after the 1st episode we saw some pretty cool fights, but that didn't happen this episode, so they must be just showing footage of future episodes to get people hyped to watch.

They end up in England again in ep3, and its pretty funny. Also foreshadows this trip wont be as easy. Yeah, the pacing is a little slow, but I still like it. Its rare that you see stuff with vikings. I found that first raid on the church fascinating. I thought it was hilarious when the brother came into the church and was like "bro, there are no women here. Only these funny...men." I guess raping and pillaging isnt as fun when there are no women. The viking take on the Christian religion is also interesting, like that line "Why does your god need gold and silver? He must be a greedy god, like Loki."

And they apparently share their wives like eskimos. And the laws regarding murder...its OK to kill someone as long as tell someone, but if you walk past two houses without telling someone, its deceitful and therefore wrong. The show supposedly isnt historically accurate , but the culture is still interesting.

It's not about murder but killing in self defense as the guy said was why he killed him before he was executed.

But because he hide that was why he was found guilty as not only was the evidence of it lacking but hiding that shows as a guilty act in itself and dishonorable it sounds like in the show.

Kind of like when someone kills another person today in self defense and simply hides from why they did it until the evidence shows it was him and gets arrested for it.

As for the sharing it was more of a way to test if he could be trusted and he failed.

But didnt he go to the third house and let someone know he killed the guy? He didn't hide, he said he thought the guy's family was in the immediate area and I guess he did it out of respect.

Oh, I was referring to the show's lead, and the shield maiden. They made that offer to the priest. I can't remember if it was in ep2 or ep3...I watched them one after the other so its all one big episode to me.

Hmm, I don't recall if he stopped at the third as I thought he was seen leaving the place but never stopped anywhere to confess so if anyone remembers give a shout out.

As for the third episode it has not aired yet on tv so I couldn't comment.

He stopped at the 3rd house because he thought the relatives lived in the first 2, and they would have killed him in retribution. However HE was killed because he had a claim to land the lord (earl?) wanted.

They need to send more then one ship if they plan on pillaging a town now.

I do wish they showed how much time passes as they seem to skip around days / weeks often.

It's GoT Lite. They will probably move past using one ship after the Earl is either killed or dethroned, or both, which I expect will happen within the next few episodes.

What's the hardest thing about choking and burying a kid out in the woods?

Having to carry the shovel home yourself.

So was that just some random kid the guy took from a woman or was it one of the kids of a guy that went on the trip?

I finally caught up tonight. (missed last week's episode)

I like the show. A bit slow, but it's a good tale...although the telling seems a bit disjointed.

Sure seemed like a Sons of Anarchy clone to me, but I didn't make it past the opening credits before I gave up on it. I absolutely detest having garbage shows on the History Channel, they degrade the occasional actual history show they occasionally air. Can't they have a separate channel for bogus science, alien fiction and redneck reality content?

I like it. Not sure if it's realistic but language wise I think they're speaking Icelandic which is as close to what the Vikings spoke as possible.

They stopped being the history channel years ago so get used to it as it's probably the best thing on the channel with pawn stars. 😛

Canada's version of the History Channel almost got their license pulled for that. I guess the broadcast regulators eventually just said f--k it and let them carry on airing Ancient Aliens. Thank god for Netflix.

I wasn't sure it was airing here but indeed it is. Sundays at 10pm. History Television only has episodes 2 and 3 online though. Where's the first one?

I thought tonight's show was the best one yet and the next is potentially looking to be even better. Yes, it started out slow but most decent shows do. There's some shit going down now.

We are talking Hollywood, of course is not "realistic".

It's just some guys story with few real details (like the shape of a boat....raids.....)

We don't know much about Vikings, but we do know that they accomplished some amazing things.

That was funny when the King's man was describing the Vikings. I guess they weren't expecting them to fight back. lol And good for the brother. They have leen laying the foundation that he was going to backstab the the main guy due to jealously and coveting his brother's wife. I still think its in the cards, but he came through this time at least. Now its time to kill The Earl. *grabs popcorn*

Im enjoying it for what it is, historically accurate it is not.

Ragnar comes across and looks like Charlie Hunnam with a strange haircut, smirk and all but OMG is his wife much hotter.
