if its anything other then guilty i will me shocked.
IF nothing else the bastard deserved involuntary manslaughter.
He is guilty of involuntary manslaughter and that is it. Sorry but the raving mob cannot justify how this was 1st degree murder at all.

I agree.
i am not sure he meant to kill the kid. i just wonder the punishment..
Oh damn, you know what though I actually believe it. So many people there, cops so clearly in command of situation I really do think he may be telling the truth.
I think its involuntary - I sure as shit wouldn't execute anyone in front of all those people.
He should still be seeing 20 years though.
No actually involuntary manslaughter would on garner 2-4 year jail sentence and that could be waived if appealed and waved if it is proved that Mehserle is not a continuing threat to the community, which is reasonable to assume considering he had no criminal history whatsoever in his past.
I guess when a white cop shoots an unarmed suspect who was fully restrained and posed no threat to any of the officers at the scene, he should get off with a slap on the wrist by claiming that "he grabbed the taser".
Fuck this cop. Since the 1st degree murder was thrown out by the judge, put him behind bars for 20 years. I hope the jury does the right thing.

So this cop had full intentions of killing the unarmed suspect? Can you prove that? If not then it's not murder, it's manslaughter. So shut the fuck up you're an idiot. Accidents happen and it sucks.
But you are sure he is a bastard?
Nice attempt at spinning the story but Oscar Grant and his crew were very combative when they were apprehended after being involved in a fight on BART. A fight for which the cops were called to scene to break up and investigate. Then again you also fail to realize that 2-4 years is the max sentence for involuntary manslaughter in CA.
There was no reason for the cop to pull out his weapon. If you examine the video again it is clear that everything was under control and the very fact that he pulled out his weapon signifies that the cop had the intent to kill. The DA decided to go after a murder charge for a reason, and I hope the jury convicted this guy for murder.

Seriously, an accident? He just shot and killed a person in cold blood.
Wow, thats just scary. He was down, handcuffed, and wasn't putting up much of a fight. That is pure murder. No way getting around that. Why did he even has his gun out anyway, the guy was under complete control. Wow, just wow
"Officer Pirone directed Officer Mehserle to arrest two of the individuals who had not been handcuffed. One of the individuals to be arrested was Oscar Grant, and Officer Pirone’s direction to Mehserle was overheard by Grant. Grant, upon hearing that he was under arrest, attempted to stand up, but was forced to the ground face first. Both Officer Mehserle and Officer Pirone attempted to restrain Mr. Grant and to seek his compliance by ordering him to put his hands behind his back to be handcuffed, but Mr. Grant resisted and refused to submit to handcuffing. Officer Mehserle was pulling at Mr. Grant’s right hand and arm, which remained under his torso near his waistband. Mr. Grant had not been searched by any officer for weapons, either prior to his initial detention or after being seated near the wall."
He said repeatedly "I'm going to taze him" before he shot and said "Oh my God" after he shot....
