I have a pit mix myself and I love her very much so and typically news of cops just putting a bullet through a dog makes me sick, but in this case, I think it was totally justified:

No license required for kids or pets. I wish there was some way to fix that. So many people in charge of another life with no clue.

I'd hope my dog would attack a stranger trying to grab him around the neck. Dogs are used for protection sometimes, you know?

that's why you keep them in the house. why were they out? why was animal controll called in the first place.

Dogs can escape their surroundings, accidents happen. If my dog went out and started mauling a kid, I'd shoot him.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but you came out like any animal that tries to protect itself (or it's surroundings) is the result of bad owners.
