I hardly ever get heartburn, especially from foods that are supposed to cause it such as meats, eggs, cheese, oranges, etc..

However, 3 things will cause it for me. Carrots, almonds, and I just added a new one today. Watermelon. All things that are supposed to be less acidic and not cause heartburn. My body is so damn weird. Alcohol makes me hyper rather than being a depressant. Any relaxation or anxiety supplements that affect my gaba receptors does the opposite (causes anxiety).

How in the world would almonds, carrots or watermelon cause this? I do notice that the more often I eat almonds or carrots, the lesser the issue is. I haven't had watermelon for about 20 years and just tried some and it about killed me. Burned like hell for about 20 minutes. Maybe I'm not human.

It may seem a bit irritating to hear this but you really should see a doctor. Heartburn increases with things like Watermelon bring you into the 1-2% of people where watermelon increases acid. That means almost nothing you read on the internet will be helpful for you as the internet is mostly about 98-99% of people. Speak to a doctor about your heartburn and what you can do to reduce the occurrence.

Can watermelon cause heartburn -- This contains a little over one gram of l- citrulline, an amino acid that seems to protect against muscle pain. One study found that men who drank natural unpasteurized watermelon juice prior to their workouts. Jun 17, 2017. This can force stomach acid into the oesophagus and cause heartburn and indigestion.

This. Make sure to ask your doctor about a test for H. Pylori. If you have it a simple antibiotic could clear up a lot for you.
