drew, i know you're familiar with them but if you decide on the dfi go to dfi.street and extreme, seriously. AT is my favorite forum but you can't beat having dfi reps as mods and the boards designer replying to threads (rarely, but nice).

plus you can PM the ocz, buffalo and mushkin reps there.

Hey there sorry it took so long to respond about my board..


I bought a 480 Antec PSU becasue I thought it the problem was my 350 antec...same deal...that ram voltage drooping still happened. Before you take any drastic measures though if you can solder I would try the vdimm mod..it stops the droop in it's tracks from what I hear.

If your not a solder wiz maybe you have a friend who could show you how so you can do it next time yourself?

I have an Aspire X-Infinity Gaming case that probably uses the same PS you are talking about in your brother's Aspire X-Dreamer case (It is a cheap Turbolink 420W, 12V@18A that came with the case). It works fine with my rig (has given me no reason to upgrade it) and i am OCing my 3000+ Winnie and my 6800NU!!

Serpentor your going to rma a motherboard because it doesnt overclock to how you want it to? If it works at stock it shouldnt be rma'd be happy you can overclock it at all, this makes me sick!

Relax, it was RMA'd to begin with, so I was taking a chance, and I'll take the 15% hit. It'll just go back in the bin (if the new powersupply I'm getting doesn't do the trick). Read some of the posts above, this board droops on the vdimm, which is probably why I've always failed the RAM torture tests in Prime95, at every speed I've tried. The board in general is inherently flawed and requires a vdimm voltmod for stability.

The fact that last week I was running Prime torture 24/7 fine at 9x305x1:2, and this week it won't even boot XP at that speed, suggests that something is breaking down. That's actually great to know, so I can replace the weaker part(s) while everything is still under warranty.

Edit: Yes I understand it's wrongful to RMA if something runs fine at stock and won't OC the way I want it too, your point was not lost. I simply see OCing as a way of testing longetivity of the parts, if it's breaking down within a week of stress, then most likely it would fail at stock just after the warranty is up.
