'merica FUCK YEA

glad they won, i had to turn the game off after that red card bullshit. god that was one if not the worst calls ive ever seen

Unfortunately I was only able to see the last ten minutes and the OT, but great game from what I watched. US was amazing considering they were down one.

That may have been the most epic sporting event that I have ever watched. Maybe if it ended with a Solo save on the last PK.

Damn, I really wanted to watch this but I was out all morning. Sounds like I missed one hell of a game.

I'd like to see US and Sweden advance for a rematch final.

No... but, it would have had a major effect on player careers..
Look up Armando Galarraga's June 2,2010 "Imperfect game". One incorrect call (which the Umpire ADMITTED the next day he blew) cost a perfect game after 9 innings of hard work.

edit:

in fact.. here's the play. The umpire ruled the runner SAFE

I feel badly for that Ump, he was so contrite about that call.

Sounds like I missed a great game, bummed I had to work today.

Definitely some karma for the crooked calls and all the "injuries" the Brazil players suddenly had at the end.

What sucks is that Gallaraga wasn't even that good of a pitcher (he's been designated for assignment and I don't think any teams have claimed him), that was his one shot at history.

What a great game and effort by the girls.

It is a shame that both of Brazil's goals were off bad calls.

The game should have been 1-0.

What is it going to take for FIFA to fix its ref problem.

Gonna be at work for the game against France on Wednesday. Lame.

I imagine the majority of those in the Americas will be. And unlike the men's world cup, it seems like no one is covering this. BBC had play by play updates for all the games last year, but this year it seems like they've only covered England's games...so far. Maybe they'll have live coverage for the semifinals.

Thought #1 - the US substituted two pretty cute girls, if I saw correctly.

Thought #2 - The announcers were god awful. Both were confused about obvious things several times. Both were convinced the game was ending at 115 instead of 120 lol.

Thought #3 - Hope Solo might be attractive, but man she comes across as a ........

Yep. Even though the women were down by a goal, on the receiving end of many bad calls, and playing 10 vs 11, they never gave up and believed they could still win.

Pure awesomeness.

For those that have ESPN3 on your computer, you can watch the whole game again. The PK's started around 3:05.
