Oh, right, duh. You know why I forgot that MLB doesn't use instant replay? Because a single call rarely has the ability to decide a game. This travesty of a soccer match was decided by a single call. Brazil doesn't retake that PK, the USA almost certainly wins this game.

Except for the multiple times where it has decided games in MLB this year, you are right.

Look up Armando Galarraga's June 2,2010 "Imperfect game". One incorrect call (which the Umpire ADMITTED the next day he blew) cost a perfect game after 9 innings of hard work.

Yeah, I'm a Tigers fan, I remember that one. I'm not arguing that single calls can't be important in baseball. But baseball is a 100+ game season sport, and every playoff is a seven game series. The World Cup is single-elimination.
