Oh, right, duh. You know why I forgot that MLB doesn't use instant replay? Because a single call rarely has the ability to decide a game. This travesty of a soccer match was decided by a single call. Brazil doesn't retake that PK, the USA almost certainly wins this game.

The solution is getting better trained refs and having the best refs on the field. Only goals need replay in my opinion, everything else is run of the play. Soccer isn't football or baseball or basketball where teams have timeouts and play stops every 10s.

At least the refs called the Brazil goalie for coming off the line.

I'll still be cheering for Sweden going forward. They're just hotter, I can't help it.

Announcers said today was the anniversary of the USA vs China game where USA won on PK's in very similar fashion.

On A Side Note... It was 12 years ago today...

On July 10, 1999 at the Women's World Cup at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, after scoring the fifth kick in the penalty shootout to give the United States the win over China in the final game, Chastain celebrated by peeling off her jersey and falling to her knees in a sports bra, her fists clenched.
