Actually my common decency is compimised after reading a bunch of propoganda from the few warhawks around here, or should I say, warvultures--don't cross them or dissent or they'll come right for your throat, and they look for everything that moves to attack.

Feel free to pass the buck...I'm sure it's someone else's fault. You're obviously the only poor victim in this thread.

What evidence do you have that most Iraqis want us there? Fox News?

Thank goodness the Internet allows us access to other foreign news resources.

Have you found that news.bbc.co.uk is pretty neutral and factual? That seems to be my favorite news source.

Absolutely, just because this is America, it does not mean we're above using propaganda to keep the support of the average joe. Can you beleive a good percentage of Americans think that Saddam had some direct responsability for 9/11. Ignorance must be bliss.

What is that supposed to mean?

We should stay out of those countries and let their people suffer. That way they can't blame us when things go wrong.

Just ignore them and let them deal with their own problems, with their own money.

Couldn't agree more. When there's enough suffering local people will start revolting. Apparently situation wasn't so bad in Iraq.

Yeah, like how the jews revolted and removed Hitler. Or was the holocaust not that bad? I'm confused.
Wow. That was the best case of utter ownage I've ever seen on the Intarweb. Congrats. :D

That was maybe the worst try to own I've seen.

Hitler and Saddam don't have anything other common than moustache. Those people who are comparing Hitler and Saddam forget Hitler invaded few countries including Poland, Denmark and Austria. If you want to compare use atleast similar dictators as Saddam is. Best example is Romania and Ceacescu in 1989. Ceacescu had his secret police, palaces etc. and very poor nation but when his regime came too illegit it took about one week and whole Ceacescu clan (wife just like Imelda Marcos, boys just like Saddam's boys = nepotism as best) were executed.

As you can see now there are a lot of people in Iraq who want Saddam back, not because he is great and rightful leader but atleast he somehow stabilized situtiation in Iraq, no looting and so on.

I never compared Hitler and Saddam, except in a very superficial fashion. The important comparison was between the Jews and the Iraqi people, which is perfectly valid, particularly in the context of what I was quoting.

I'm sure the 150 imprisoned children and their parents (if they weren't executed) would love to have him back.

I don't know and really I don't care. Two groups with opposite opinions. Enough for me ;)

the extremely pro-war and extremely anti-war people are exactly the same to me. they love to say things like "think of the children" because they have no other solid basis to argue with.

if your reasoning is correct, why dont we invade china? there are at least 100 million children there that need freeing, who cant protest, and if they do will end up in jail without any rights.

I'm not extremely anything but tired of the idiocy around here. Read the thread. People are cheering that someone was shot because it might be used to make the US look bad. People are saying that the Iraqis would be better off under a brutal dictator because it might be used to make the US look bad. People are saying stupid things for stupid reasons so I respond in kind. You got something serious to discuss, feel free but this entire thread has turned into a monument to one thing...stupidity....my posts included.

Further proof that Iraqi's are ecstatic about having us in their country.

oh dear, this isn't boding well at all.

forcing freedom with a gun down their throats.

thats a shame.
Reading comprehension isn't your strong suit is it?

My question in regards to that article is why was an American flag hoisted? I thought that was not going to be done as it was likely to result in exactly the kind of problems and raised tensions portrayed in the article.
