This may be the most damning thing I have seen. To watch the sitting president happily watching the events unfold. WTF?
 
I'm starting to think Trump was very much aware of a plan of assassination being discussed by the same nutjobs who were going to kidnap and execute the Gov of Michigan. It wasn't clear if the plan was completely real, but it was discussed by many and for some time apparently. Basically, 200 heavily armed magats were going to storm the capital, take control of the building and start holding snap hearings on the steps where Dems were immediately executed by firing squad. I think Trump thought with turnout like that there might be a chance the plan was real, and he could take advantage of the chaos, have a reason to declare martial law and cling to power somehow. He's already got the blood of 360k+ dead Americans on his tiny hands, what's a few more? A woman rushed armed and ready agents and won a tarp, the others killed themselves with accidents. Small potatoes. This isn't Benghazi after all.


That response he gave where he told them to go home was the usual crock of shit. Still pushing feels over zero evidence, still clinging to that victim complex. All these repugs putting on airs of civility now, my gods it's disgusting. May all the treasonous cockholsters get what they deserve.

They generally have very heavy steel doors, with mag locks. You're more likely to cut in through a wall then go through a door. Possible someone found a badge and unlocked it themselves, or something.

Look, to be honest I believe this video is in the minutes BEFORE Trump began speaking at the rally. Well before the capital terrorism.

I don't think it's fair to say this is while the capital incursion is happening.

True. However, it was also a coup attempt designed by an infantile moron being advised by a group of idiots that would never have succeeded.

Scary thing is the moron is still in power, and the only people in the White House now apparently speaking to him is the idiots.

And, there are reports that he is telling people that he plans to pardon himself. The courts are going to spend the next 10 years before we finally rid ourselves of hearing Trump's name.

Having lived through a couple coups and attempted coups in other countries, this is what a coup looks like, except by idiots lead by an idiot.

But is it even over yet?

Yes it "failed," but it has revealed deep flaws in the agencies we thought were designed to protect us. They are compromised.

I mean we have seen a rapid, rapid escalation from the right in the past few months. First it was them storming the MI capitol in protest of the lockdowns. Then the plots to kidnap the governors of MI and OH. Then yesterday. Don't forget they were trying the same thing in Washington state too.

And we have had basically zero response to quell this.

Ninety minutes later, Hogan said, he received a call “out of the blue, not from the secretary of defense, not through what would be normal channels,” but from Ryan McCarthy, the secretary of the Army. McCarthy asked if the Maryland guardsmen could “come as soon as possible,” Hogan recounted.

If true this was an attempted coup from the top levels of the administration and they should be executed by firing squad on the Washington Mall.

Considering we already know Pence is who authorized the guard, this really just fills in more details about how deep the coup ran.

I agree. We need vigilance for the foreseeable future. We need a thorough investigation into what happened on Capital Hill and the security lapse there.
