On Tuesday, the court's nine justices will consider whether to strip First Amendment protection from violent videogames that critics say appeal to the deviant interests of children.

Yes...Yes!!! For the fucking children! Take away our firsrt amendment PLEASE!!!!

Total BS as usual.

Is it any more obvious I'm fucking tired of the Voting BS going on? Wake me when the dog and pony show is over and let me know the out come of this two party cluster fuck.

Waste of MONEY and TIME....

Whoa, it's on the Fox News site and it's not spun to hell and back? Damn, somebody's getting lazy.

The article is posted on Fox News, but it's not telling me what to think. This is not what I've come to expect from the Fox News brand!

You should really watch what you pull from the Wall Street Journal. Most of it is not properly prepared for display on Fox News.

From the sounds of it, the justices are highly skeptical of the state's position that violent games need to have a first amendment exception cut out for them in terms of not having protection. I hope they rule that way as well -- toss out the laws. It should be up to parents to decide what their kids should or should not play, keep the nanny state out.

How about parents actually take some fucking interest in their children and NOT BUY THEM GAMES THEY DON'T APPROVE OF. I mean, for fuck's sake, there are warnings on games that tell exactly what kind of game it'll be.

Here's a clue: don't buy your 9 year old a game rated M and you won't have to worry about it.

I love society.

Game contains mature scenes and is rated 18+ accordingly (or 17+ as the case may be).

Parent buys game for a 10 year old because they spoil the shit out of the kid in everything else anyway.

Kid acts like a spoiled fuck and parent blames video games.

Ah, refreshing isn't it.... sigh

That and... I want to play games please! I have not been a child for quite some time!

Didn't you get the memo? The government should get out of our healthcare system and our wallets... but it's the perfect tool for forcing parenting decisions on all of us.

/sarcasm

Like every video game has violence. That is the point. Lots of violence on TV and movies also. If you dont like video games, then dont buy them.

Duh..., Duh....!

Bugs Bunny is full of violence.

Bugs Bunny is full of violence.

There is a difference between Bugs Bunny violence and Ninja Assassin violence though if we are talking about watching something on the TV.

Personally though, I wouldn't buy my kids anything I don't want them to have and wouldn't let them watch anything I don't want the to watch. That is called parenting and I don't need the government doing that for me.

Hopefully they will realize the gaming industry is already regulated, has ESRB ratings and there are fines imposed on those caught selling M rated games to minors

the court last year (well, this year, last session) voted 8 to 1 on allowing snuff films (the act may be illegal but the recording of it is not). i don't expect this to be any different.

They're also not particularly left...

This is true.
Been bored lately with the flu and was reading a lot of stuff online. If histories liberals could see what modern American liberals are up to they'd be ashamed.
In fact most people calling themselves liberals need to stop, because they really arent.
I guess thats why some have dropped the title and prefer to be called progressive. Cuz a Nazi state is not something we've yet had here. So that must be new and better.

Yep. Sad, isn't it?

The funny thing? I'm VERY liberal... and most of the so-called liberals on this board think I'm a rightwinger.

WTF???
