Too many Republicans like censorship too. Along with Democrats, their fingerprints are all over the FCC's decency rules, the COICA, a "nontraditional family values" tax credit exemption in Florida, and the flag burning amendment (Orrin Hatch sponsored it, Bill Frist brought it up for a vote in the House) in 2005/6.

I think you missed the gist of my post. I never painted the rightwing as liberal.

And as for "decency rules," they have steadily been loosening. And the flag burning amendment fails every time. Like I said, the religious right has little political mojo. They seem worth pandering to, but their agenda never passes.

My point is this: The American LEFT and Democrat leadership/mainstream is NOT liberal. Not in any sense of the word.

Which is sad, because now neither of the major parties is liberal. We have no true liberal option in a major party platform anymore.

You didn't paint the right-wing as liberal, but you continue to dismiss them because their agenda doesn't usually get far at the federal level.

While that is certainly true, making parenting easy is not a legitimate function of government.

Maybe to you and me but the people trying to ban certain music not too long ago like Tipper Gore disagreed and produced arguments to the contrary,

playing cops and robbers as kids, paintball gun fights, laser tag, etc. are all interactive but you and I know someone somewhere will say they should be banned for one reason or another and produce studies to show the negative consequences on the minds of the youth.

That game is far too violent for today's youth. Now they are only allowed to play therapists and robbers.
