 just like everyone else, I am kind of confused because that doesn't look like an STi (where's the emblazoned STi logo on the intercooler?) . Either way though, it's a nice looking ride...enjoy!!!

No. I didn't get ripped off in the least. JDM as pray4mojo stated. Hell, I would have replaced alot of the upgrades anyway. More to come.

Btw, the matting is pretty light. I installed maybe 100-130 square feet of it.

That's not an STi. The first year the STi came to the states was 2004 and it was not a bug eye version. The 2004 WRX-STi had the 300hp 2.5l boxer engine. What you have is an earlier 2.0l WRX. Not an STi.

so how much was it? the bug-eye was quite slow even compared to the Evo VII

i think it'd cost quite a bit to convert a car.

compared to its rival, the Evo VII at that time of course. well it's not that significant, as they're both pretty fast for the money.

Hey, what did you build the box out of? I like the channel you cut out for the trunk arm...very good idea.

It was a really quick job. It's just MDF, nice and dense. I would say I will have ~$7000 in the system once it is finished.

What brand of dampener did you use? X2

Did you use a router to cut the channel?

I have the same opinion. I can see the good points tot eh suburu, but the stylign is a real killer to me.

I'm honestly not sure. As soon as I picked it up, I went to a local shop 'knife', where my friend got his truck bagged, etc. He sold me 150 sq ft for $1 per - usually $2-$3 per. I don't remember seeing any markings on it when I was installing it.

I tried to Google it to minimize ignorance, but it is apparently a mat commonly used for this application. He had just matted an Evo and an Audi TT 9which was still bare), so he showed me how to properly install the stuff.

I wish I could be more helpful, but sound insulation isn't my specialty.

I didn't have time to do that. When I say quick and dirty, I mean it. I pretty much assembled it as soon as the silicon seal dried.
