First, I did not come to this Forum to debate people. This is a tech forum and that is why I came here. I spent a long time on here an never came into P&N.

That said, the Right is not a plague, extreme beliefs are. The Right as I said embraced their extreme elements and upset the balance. The only reasonable way that I see of setting things right is for the Left to stay reasonable for as long as possible. I hold no illusion that Nazis would have been stopped without WWII, and violence is sometimes needed. I also know that we are very far from that point and can still turn things around.

The Right is dominated by common wisdom and preserving what works, whereas the Left is about progress and innovation to improve things. The Right tries to build structures that give power to those that should run things, and the Left keeps an eye on those structures to make sure they are not abused. Currently, that is not how things are being done. Both sides are not striving for an equilibrium but for ways to remove the impedance of the other. This is expected as both sides think they are correct and the other incorrect. The problem is when one side picks up the tools of the other.

The reason the Right is prone to fascism is because they are the side that builds the power structures that keep society in line. Unchecked they lead to fascism. The Left is prone to tearing everything down because it wants equality even if that makes things worse. So, what do we do when one side has lots its mind and the other wants to lose it too?

Ultimately, I push for the Left to improve because I think currently the Right is a lost cause until they get back on track. Or, to say it another way, I want to empower the side that I think can help us all. If the Left becomes violent and tries to remove those that it disagrees with, it becomes the monster its trying to fight, because that is the goal of fascists.

People in this country want to be safe, and it's not too much to ask to NOT be assaulted b/c of your political party affiliation that is comprised of virtually half the country. By attacking Trump supporters, you are only reinforcing Trump's message that we need more police and security (which is correct) in this country. Eventually technology will take care of this in the form of cheap drones who will respond in less than 20 seconds to an incident, but for now people can attack others and get away with the unacceptable behavior of the liberal thug in the OP. If anything, it reinforces my argument that the dollar is still worth as much as back then. Also consider that median income is returning to its peak because the dot com boom and subsequent recession were real things that we have to consider. It's great that we are getting back to dot com boom levels of income, hell if you saw my link to the WSJ article in April where they said that even if every person of working age filled a job in Iowa, there'd be 180,000 left to fill then you know our economy is killing it right now (but that's besides the point).

What I need you to show me are examples of successful Trickle Up economies. Pick any from the EU or Scandinavia and show me where it's more successful than the dollar. If the EU, which taxes more and provides greater Trickle Up, is better then the Euro should be worth more than the dollar right? Companies should be flocking to the EU b/c of booming GDPs and businesses, right? That's not what's happening, however. They are flocking here. Hell, even Guinness just opened up a new front in Baltimore. The writing is on the wall.

So you agree with me that Trickle Up doesn't work as well? If you'll concede that, I'll concede that Trickle Down isn't perfect but it's all we have now and it's a lot better than Trickle Up. Trickle Down got us to elite superpower status so it's the best proven form of capitalism so far. Some posit that wealth redistribution will increase the dollar's strength, and to that I say how? And where has this been done before?

There are a few things that I don't like about Trickle Down but they mainly involve the stock market and how greed = quality of the end product turning to complete shit. And this is odd since I work with investments, but examples like using cheaper inferior materials for a product once the company gets successful is my beef. They are abandoning what got them fame in the first place, and everyone but shareholders suffer. Sad but true. If companies weren't so worried about their quarterly earnings, the world would be a much better place. Or better yet, don't go public and become a sell out (e.g.Chic Fil A).
