260 lbs for one rep! couldn't get the second, so wife had to help a little. Before anyone yells out "One rep max means nothing!", this was my 5-3-Max session using the four-session 5-3-1 method. So, it just happened that I could only get 1 rep for this lift. I really tried for that second rep.
43 years old, 200 pounds, been lifting since I was 16 and this is a lifetime personal record. Yep, you can say that I don't have the most gifted genetics, but you could also say that I have always been on and off with my focus.
The last 7 months, however, I have had determined focus and have been diligent in my workouts, which uses the Starting Strength principles, along with renewed focus on nutrition.
Sleeping is still an issue and in fact I was so excited about the opportunity for the personal record that I woke up at 4am and couldn't get back to sleep. I work out at 6.
Anyway, my workout schedule has an attempt at 265 in two weeks (2 sessions per week). Here's looking forward to another personal record!
