I will wait until the official announcement of the commutation of sentence before erupting in outrage against GWB&co. But then again, I have advocated the impeachment of GWB
already and this does little to alter my position. I was outraged before---and am still outraged---the real question is how those sitting on the fence will take the news that criminality to advance the GWB&co. agenda is above the law.

They already know that it is criminal Lemon. They don't care as long as the GWB&Co agenda makes them feel good. Might makes right.

"The Democrats have been a total failure in holding Bush and his admin accountable for anything."

True. Maybe this will be the straw that breaks the camel's back.

Just when you think that Bush can't sink any lower into the sleaze and slime, he finds yet another way to do it. Disgusting!

Hell... his approval is only at 30% - what's he got to lose... the libs will whine about it for a few days, but it's not really going to impact him at all.

The impact of this will be felt much further than just the white house. The first question in the next R debate will almost certainly have something to do with Libby. Everyone in the race will have to deal with this issue.

This isn't a small thing. The Dems have a legitimate gripe here and if they are smart they can run with this for a long time.

The Democrats have been a total failure in holding Bush and his admin accountable for anything.
If they can't make hay with this then they don't deserve the congress. Not that the Rs do. But come on. Bush just gave them a total meatball right down the center of the plate. They can take this one all the way to the white house in '08.

Dubbya not only screwed himself with this, he screwed his whole party. If I were running for president right now I would run, not walk, run to the nearest microphone to denounce this and make it clear that things like this can not be allowed to happen.

a pardon would definitely would have been lower.

edit 2: goddamn quote bug is awful

damn, I thought he would let him hang out in club fed until after the 08 elections but I guess when they told him to go directly to jail w/out passing go they decided to do it now. What's going to piss me off the most is I bet you most of the country will give this a collective 'meh' and it will be forgotten about.

His entire administration has been nothing short of disgusting.

yeah. I would much rather he pardon some drug dealers who contributed to his regime 😱

Now is the time to put defunding the VPs office forward again. It lost 217-209. I think those votes just might be found this time.

When will this national embarrassment end? Yes, putin should be laughing his ass off, he was criticized for refusing to extradite somebody to britain a few weeks ago.

~revolution calling, revolution calling, there's a revolution calling you...~

Seriously, we just need to impeach and be done. I wasn't for it before because he was so close to leaving I didn't want to waste the time/money, but now it's obvious he's determined to destroy us (and perhaps the world) utterly before he leaves office. We have to send a message to all politicians that they aren't allowed to act like this, PERIOD. We NEED all future regimes to live in abject fear of the people once again, to keep them in line. We just can't survive another administration like Bush's.

Wow. That didn't take long.

Yet another sterling example of the 'honor and dignity' these goons sold conservatives on. Bush just kicked the GOP square in the nuts.

But at least we now know what the loss of valuable intel on Iran and many lives costs: $250k and some probation.

Bush voters must be so proud. :|

Dear Mr. President,

With all due respect (i.e. NONE), please go FSCK YOURSELF! I hope no future President does the same for you when you're convicted of the murder of every troop who's died in your war of lies and for treason for shredding the Constitution. :thumbsdowns; :| :thumbsdowns;

You mean like GWB already has?
Pardoning a bomber, a cocaine dealer, an LSD dealer, and a marijuana dealer.

Wow, I just finished the chapter in Al Gore's book Assault on Reason about how George W. Bush has a tendency to extend the power of the executive branch of government to overpower the legislative and judicial branch and this could not be a better example. I really hope this makes Americans stand up and look at what this administration is doing to the USA's carefully planned constitution and system of checks and balances and realise that Bush really is chipping away at the very things that make America so great. I hope you guys sort it out, because it is agonising to sit here and watch this administration destroy USA from the inside out.

Bush just killed his presidency.

It was on life support before, he just hit it over the head with a shovel.

I was two seconds away from posting that Dubbya would never pardon Libby until he was on his way out of office.

This is truly amazing.

A standing president pardons a guy who may have lied to protect him. BALLS.

I am not surprised, I said on here many times he would never let one of his close buddies see prison.

I will also be not surprised by the continued support by the rabid righties on here that continue support this slug.

Well, Bush certainly has united us.
I can never remember a time the U.S. was more united.
In its hatred of its President.
And that includes Nixon.

Bring back Nixon! (Yeah I know he's dead, but he'd still be better than Bush)
