Guys , remember this quote when shivetya claims to be against crime or political corruption.

That's giving bullshivet more attention than he's worth. I'll pass. 🙂

humm Bush commutes this POS but leaves two honest border agents in prison.

I had completely forgotten about that! Makes this news even more stomach-turning. Haven't felt this queasy since I heard Cheney lectured on ethics at West Point.

You mean like GWB already has? Pardoning a bomber, a cocaine dealer, an LSD dealer, and a marijuana dealer.

Nice, that's news to me! But don't expect a response to this ownage of yours. Not one that makes sense anyway. 😉

Wow, I just finished the chapter in Al Gore's book Assault on Reason about how George W. Bush has a tendency to extend the power of the executive branch of government to overpower the legislative and judicial branch and this could not be a better example. I really hope this makes Americans stand up and look at what this administration is doing to the USA's carefully planned constitution and system of checks and balances and realise that Bush really is chipping away at the very things that make America so great. I hope you guys sort it out, because it is agonising to sit here and watch this administration destroy USA from the inside out.

Just look at their responses here... sure, some are paid shills, but not all. Some are just ignorant and want their "side" to win, irregardless of what they do.

Wow complete BS to pardon him.</end quote></div>

He didn't pardon him. Know your facts before you cry.

He pardoned the sentence, the only part that matters... quit being dishonest and pathetic.

Ummm....Shivetya is the only person that comes even remotely close to defending Bush, and he didn't even do that. You might want to try reading the thread before you make yourself look even dumber next time.

Actually, I see the resident conservatives disagreeing with this, myself included....

JD, you are somewhat of a beacon amongst the posters on the 'right' here, and I'm glad to see you declaring 'conservative', rather than 'Republican' allegiance. Take back your party! It would do everyone a lot of good to see the Republicans re-locate their moderate/conservative values.

by commuting libby's conviction, bush shows his contemp of the american justice system, this from law and order pres.

Well thanks, but I don't think there is a chance that either side will be able to take their party back, the parties have way too much power.

You get a week for generating such a satire and trying to attribute it to another poster.

You will not get the sentence commuted for claiming that it was humorous.

If republicans want to win anything more then a school board next year they should call on the president to resign.

I think one of two things will have to happen for Republicans have any chance.

1) The majority of Americans will forget all about this by the time the elections roll around, which is quite possible.

2) Any Republican running for office has to denounce this and get as far away from Bush as possible, but even that might not help.

It's part of dubs new plan.. "No neo-con left behind."

I'm willing to put money on dubya giving libby a congressional medal of honor before his term is up.

Nope, he commuted it. Big difference. Even the OP got it right.

Commuting his sentence is just as good as a pardon.

Do you think Libby gives a damn about a criminal record, $250,000 fine, or probation?

I'm sure the fine will be taken care of for him, the probation officer bribed, and his record ignored as pals give him high paying, cushy jobs.

What's even more disgusting is the common citizens who defend these elitists while those they so vigorously defend would crush them like a bug without a moment's hesitation.

Wow - just wow. Just when I think President Bush can't get more arrogant and shameless, he manages to exceed my expectations. I honestly wouldn't have thought he'd do this, with this much time left in his presidency. Look for his approval ratings to sink to their lowest yet.

It'll be interesting to see how the R candidates respond to this - he really has become an incredible embarrassment to his party.

I disagree. The people who deal with his probation will be heads and shoulders above Libby et al ethically. There won't be many restrictions though.

Yet another reason to push away from the mainstream parties. One person gives all new Republican candidates a bad name. Thats not right.

Your point is well taken, but the President's party enjoys enormous benefits as well - they have to take the bitter with the sweet when he's a complete bonehead.

I know I'm beating a dead horse, but I really am just . . . stunned by this development. The shamelessness of this commutation is just unbelievable. President Bush is SO transparent and flagrant in his dereliction of duty that it's like he's trying to get himself impeached.
