I put mine on a generic one (foam on bottom with a plastic/paper type top)
In retrospect I think it would have been better on hard plastic with rubber feet on the bottom.

I can't wait to get my hand on this mat.

I have one question though. It was mentioned that this mat could be cut to fit an everglide giganta. I really, really hope this is an option at release, because that is the pad I am using.

I have my new Razer Boomslang shipping on Nov. 1, and I would love to get one of these mats as soon as possible

Giganta:

9 1/2" High
11 1/2" Wide
1/4" Deep

So it looks like the Giganta and Ratpad have the same dimensions, everglide is just cut a little differently at the bottom, so medium should work just fine for giganta's

BETA TESTER #5 Feedback Form

1. I would describe myself as a gamer and a cad system user.

2. For this Beta Test, I tested C4 an average of 10 hrs per day, 7 days per week from Oct. 12th 2003 to Oct. 26th 2003

3. My mouse is optical and wireless.
Type of Mouse: Mfr Logitech Model MX700

Rate C4 for the following with 1 being the lowest rating to 10 being highest (best) rating:
Speed 8
Responsiveness 8
Smoothness 8
Helps me compute/game better 8
I would be willing to purchase C4 for up to $6 per mat.
Ergonomics (hand/wrist comfort) rating 8
Color 7
I would like a larger size
OVERALL RATING 8

Additional comments: First I would like to say I really enjoy this mouse surface and think the texturing is just right. The texture provides enough feedback to judge mouse travel and is not too rough to become abrasive or distracting. I have had no issues with the optical mouse tracking incorrectly on this surface. The smoothness of the surface greatly helps in first person shooting games as well as AliasWavefront's Maya and Adobe Photoshop as well. The mouse accelerates well and is very smooth on this surface which helps a lot with small movements in graphics programs. The color isn't bad, but a gun metal grey color or clear would be even more appealing in my opinion. The only problems I had with this surface were during installation. When I was peeling the backing off it became creased and I was unable to get the crease out as I was attaching the C4 surface to the mousepad. The crease was difficult to smooth out of the C4 surface and it is still there in a few places. I think a less rigid material for the backing the surface ships with would probably help this issue. Another issue I had was the mousepad's size was 8" by 9 1/2", so I had a half inch where the original mousepad stuck out from under the C4 surface (which was 8" by 9"). It wasn't a huge problem, but maybe a couple different cuts that reflect generic mouse pad sizes would be more helpful and make installation easier, or a larger size that could be cut down would also be an improvement. Rounded corners precut would also be a nice finishing touch, but not necessary. Overall I really enjoy this surface and would be interested in purchasing a larger size

3. optical wireless mouse

4. Logitech MX 700

5. I rate it for:

Speed a 10

Responsiveness a 10

Smoothness a 10

I would be willing to purchase C4 for up to $ 5.00 per mat ( as tested 9"x8")

Ergonomics a NA as it is thin and depends on the surface attached to.

Color a 6, would rather have black or silver.

I would like it larger 10" x 10"

This stuff is very slick and you can really control the mouse to the utmost degree. Awesome stuff!

Best Tester #24
1. I would describe myself as a: gamer and system user ( helpdesk )
2. For this beta test, I tested C4 an average of 10 hrs per day, 4 of the days per week from 10/23 2003 to 10/26 2003.
3. My mouse is : Wireless Mouse and wired
4. Type of Mouse: Logitech MX700 and MS Intellimouse Optical 1.1
5. Rate C4 for the following with 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest rating:
Speed 9
Responsiveness 10
Smoothness 10
Helps me compute/game better 10
I would be willing to purchase C4 up to $9.99 per mat or $15.99 with a somewhat hard flat surface pad
Ergonomics (hand/wrist comfort) rating 8
Color 10- i like this color
I would like a larger size since i got use to ratzpad GS
Overall rating Very Impress, definitely a much better pad that ratzpad GS, feels like butter...........
Additional comments: It'll be nice if this is on a hard flat surface type pad. When this arrived in the mail, had all sorts of crease ( correct spelling? ) mail delivery fold in in half then pressed it at the back of my mailbox.

Had to break out the super glue last night since the pad did exactly what I thought it would and started peeling off my cloth Mouse pad.......If it was a hard surfice it may have stayed longer but not much. The superglue should hold it down for eternity however :p Again nice mouse pad just needs something more permanent to abhere to.

I like the smoothness of the mousepad, and the quick response combined with the teflon mouse tape, the only thing I would like more was If it could be black to match my computer, monitor, and keyboard. Thank you for letting me test your mousepad.

C4 Beta Tester #27

1. I would describe myself as Other - student who uses his computer for at least 10+ hours a day, casual gamer
2. For this Beta Test, I tested C4 an average of 10 hours a day, 5 days a week from 10/22/2003 to 10/27/03 (i will continue to be using it 7 days a week from now on)
3. My mouse is Optical / Wired
4. Type of Mouse: Microsoft Intellimouse Optical v3.0
5.
- Speed 10 (with the discs its pretty smooth ... i consider this "fast" since it glides)
- Responsiveness 10
- Smoothness 10
- Helps me compute/game better 10
- I would be willing to purchase C4 for up to $8 per mat.
- Ergonomics (hand/wrist comfort) rating N/A (i use a wrist rest so its okay ... im sure this depends on the mousepad used)
- Color 10 - i like copper. additional colors that are more traditional (black or silver) would be really cool.
- I like the size as it is now. It covers my dell mousepad wonderfully.
- Overall rating 10 (as a mouse enhancing product)
- Additional comments - At first I thought that the C4 was not that great. Then I realized that the feet of my mouse were worn out and so that the mouse was so "low" that the edges were dragging along the mousepad as well. I fixed this using the 15-3S teflon tape I got from CS-Hyde in my first purchase from them. I taped the edges of my mouse with the teflon tape and it's been gliding smoothly since. Its like butter. I like it. Thanks for letting me test out your product!

BETA TESTER #11

1) I would describe myself as a:
gamer/cad system user (since I do both)

2) For this beta test, I tested C4 an average of 8-10 hrs per day, 5-7days
per week from October 10th to October 28th

3) My mouse is
home: Optical, wireless
work: wired

4) Type of mouse:
home: logitech mx700
work: ibm generic 3 button mouse

5) rate C4 for the following with 1 being the lowest rating and 10 being the
highest (best) rating
speed: 9
responsiveness: 8
smoothness: 9
helps me compute/game better: 8
I would be willing to purchase C4 for up to $10 (if mousefeet came with
it)
Ergonomics (hand/wrist comfort): 7
Color: 5
I would like a larger size
OVERALL RATING: 8

Additional comments:
The product is very nice, the only issue I have is the
size of the pad. It is not large enough to completely fit over my mouse pad
and the teflon mouse discs that I started out with on the beta test had
become damaged and ended up causing more friction instead of reducing it.
After I removed the mouse discs and put on the teflon tape I purchased from
your store. The teflon tape+C4 combo is once again very nice to use.

Therefore my suggestion would be to increase the size of
C4 material that is being sold and if you could include atleast 6 mouse
discs (since my mouse has 5 locations of contact with the mousepad). I
believe that it should cover most mice that are out on the market that way
and include a possible 1-2 extra mouse disc.

note: it's only one dimension that was incompatible with my mousepad, the
longer section was actually short by approximately 1 to 3/4 of an inch.

note 2: after looking at your website I see your other kit included 8 mouse
feet, that would alter my suggestion on number of mouse discs to be 10-12
for one set to use and one set to replace and having 0-2 spares (if
considering the mx700 mouse that I used)

Additional comments:____________________OVERALL A GOOD PRODUCT. FEW ISSUES
THAT NEED TO BE WORKED ON QUALITY CONTROL, THE C4 PAD SENT TO ME HAD A FEW
BUMPS IN IT FROM UNEVENLY DISTRIBUTED GLUE, EITHER FROM THE PRODUCTION
PROCESS, OR WAS PUT THERE DURING THE STRESS OF THE SHIPPING PROCESS. MIGHT
BE AN ISSUE ON GETTING A LOT OF RETURNED C4 PADS IF THIS IS A COMMON
OCCURRENCE. I THINK THAT AS PART OF A SOLUTION, THE MOUSE DISCS + THE PAD
WORTH GREAT TOGETHER. HOWEVER, BECAUSE I THINK THE TEFLON MOUSEDISCS/TAPE
ALREADY MAKE THE MOUSE SO SMOOTH ON PRACTICALLY ANY SURFACE, THE EFFECT OF
THE PAD IS SOMEWHAT LESSENED.
