Does anyone know if TERA can be played in first person?
MMo in first person?
D:
Game in first person?
D:
but seriously, isn't that game all about T&A and nothing else? why play in first person?

haha.
You know....that might have been some other pontifex. There were a few, apparently that is some popular name?
I think I did work with zerocool and a few other ATers briefly, rather early on.
But there was a pontifex that I always thought was you--but now I remember an online conversation revealing that it probably wasn't.
:hmm:
but your join date does say 2000--could be borked like my post number, (which is way too high...I think).
and the game was released 2005. factions was out a year later, about the time I played. Still....wouldn't matter the campaign. I did play with a pontifex in pre-searing at some point.
dude hated everything, haha.

LOL, I would never play a female character. But the rest of you folks probably will so there will be plenty to see.
How is TERA as an MMO, does anyone know? As in, aiming system aside, is it casualized? Is it like SW TOR which is really a single player game, are you given exact instructions for where to go for everything, do tradeskills have a 100% chance of success and skilling up, can you solo everything, etc?
Also, added TERA to the original post and organized it by MMORPG and other MMOs. And as it happens, only EQ Next, TERA, The Secret World and Guild Wars 2 are up there now. Surely there are some more well known MMORPGs coming up?
how does GW2 do questing differently than other MMOs?
It's dynamic, you wander into an area and simply join into the event taking place. You don't have to talk to an NPC or accept any quest to get involved, the events simply trigger (whether you're in the area or not) and you can join in or you can ignore it. GW2 offers multiple ways to complete an event, it isn't just "kill 10 rats"...etc. With that said, there are a couple of the typical MMO quests in GW2 but the main content is all of the dynamic variety.
TERA is really grabbing my interest, I'm now extremely tempted to pre-order so that I can continue my character. I'm level 11 and I just made it off the starter island and into the first city.
I actually died a couple of times as well which I really like. I'm playing on a 360 controller while laying down on my couch, it plays like an action game which is exactly what I want from an MMO. All of the quest text is skippable and instantly forgettable, so sitting on the couch detract from the experience. The combat is light years better and more enjoyable than Amalur, but in a huge persistent world. The scale of the environments in TERA is massive, perhaps not quite as grand as GW2 but still - these environments are huge and have outstanding art assets.
Bottom line - the character animations, the hack n' slash combat with no targetting attacks, the great graphics at 80fps, the non-existent latency, the huge and at times majestic environments... everything really took me by surprise. This fps also don't drop much in heavily populated city environments. I never once saw my fps dip below 40 in the cities, I believe the game runs on Unreal Engine 3.
Nothing will compare to GW2; most likely the future in MMO
Looking forward to this weekend when the GW2 beta is out and of course TERA early-access begins. I'm getting both.![]()
You have to actually aim in Tera.
I am checking out this game, it looks promising to me. I signed up to play the open beta too.
Donno if this was mentioned, but I think Anarchy Online will rule when they update their engine, hope this will happen this year
