I have it and play it occasionally, but I mostly play COD4

Same here, play a bit, but play TF2 a lot more.

Also, I think UT2K4 is better.

Heck, it's still sitting in the Target bag .

ROFL... I haven't spent enough time away from Titan Quest / Immortal Throne to install Bioshock yet. :)

I played the demo, and enjoyed the game play and graphics, but the horrid Server Browser was enough to put me off. Also the apparent lack of other players playing would be another tally against it.

I love the Original UT-99 and I'm happy to play that. Since UT3 isn't an exact UT-99 clone, I'm not interested

The market is just saturated with great games right now.

I bought and played ETQW (great game, very polished) just a handful of times before the orange box hit. I've played TF2 and finished portal but I may never get done with episode 2. I've not finished bioshock yet. I finally cancelled WoW (too many good games too little time), I'm barely getting enough time to play Hellgate..

My "reading list" is just too long to squeeze it in right now.
I've got an unplayed FEAR expansion sitting around.
Never bothered to get the Titan Quest expansion although I think it would rock.
With Crysis I think I'm going to do myself a favor and wait on one more generation of hardware to arrive...

It's a wonderful problem to have...too many good games!

People talking about PC gaming dying are so utterly full of shit.

I love it and play it constantly , The UI sucks hard though. The modding community is great, Epic will keep supporting the game through patches and bonus packs. I played through Crysis and COD4 and I always go back to UT3 for quick and furious spam sessions...

The best UI and menu system they ever had was for UT Classic.
2003 was bad and 2004 was even worse. The games were pretty darn good, and I love all the optional stuff you can download these days, (especially Classic maps and weapons and even some of the character models).

But aside from Assualt they didnt do much on the side of gameplay. They actually made domination worse, and overall the franchise is losing its appeal for me.

As I've said before, gameplay is about 10 times as important as graphics. The fact I keep playing Red Faction, Alien Vs Predator, Deus Ex and Baldurs Gate should cement that position.

UT is losing playability because the devs focus too much on how pretty it is. A textbook example of games being dumbed down to support the massive Console-lovers population.

I didnt really like battlefield all that much, had its moments but nah.... RTS is my thing, or random slaughtering in HL2 deathmatch, this whole capture the flag crap isnt my thing.

Thanks God though UT3 isn't just all about Capture the Flag.

Personally I miss the Invasion mode. I played (and still do) UT2004 solely for the custom-made Invasion mode (with 40+ mutators and RPG-elements). Without Invasion soon my UT3 will end up un-installed and sold at my local store. I'm fine with UT2004 right now and even UT99.

I might buy it later down the road. Just never was into the series. Though if they made a new Quake Arena instead of that Quake Wars crap I would buy it in a heart beat.

I played unreal tournament 2004 for about a month or two, but it's missing that one element I really like.; A Single Player campaign.

Played the demo. Really didn't care for the game play. I liked UT99 a little bit and liked UT04 for its ONS game mode, but UT3 demo just didn't do it for me.

Epic screwed me over on Gears of War for PC. Until they patch it to completely fix the random crashing and ridiculous stuttering, I'm not buying any more of their games.

1) Horrible UI.
2) Apparently there are no servers below 150ms.
3) Everything has a dark and dreary look. Would it kill them to use something other than black, grey, and white?
4) 5 CTF Maps? No FaceClassic? GTFO.
5) No hidden weapons option...? Seriously?
6) Movement hard to go back to once you come from UT2004. Feels so restricted, especially with weapons that can 1 shot you easily.

Don't you have a mods or mutators or config page when you are starting a round?
Can't you modify all those things?

I really liked the original UT, each one made after it has failed to give me the same feeling.

I am getting it for Xmas and I bet a lot of other people will to.

The new patch is out as well, that is meant to improve a lot of things.

I've played the demo and while the gameplay was fun (movement, weapons balance, etc), everything else about the game left me very underwhelmed. This game was made for the console and ported to PC. After being spoiled by UT2k4 with all of its options and customizability, UT3 is a bitter disappointment. The UI and server browser are horrendous, the art direction sucks, and overall, the game is about as user friendly as a pack of thumbtacks.

Even if Epic fixes everything up with patches, it will probably be too little, too late for me, and I honestly don't think they can fix it well enough. Epic talked up UT3 and gave its UT fans high expectations and then dumped this beta release turd on them, which fails in almost every aspect. UT2k4 is a much better gaming experience for me, so I'll stick to that for now.

The only thing I'm left wondering now is whether or not Epic will even bother with PC on their next UT release, because they barely bothered about it this time.

All of that stuff can be modified, but it leads to fracturing of the community. The most popular servers out there will be running more or less vanilla versions of the game. You can tweak it to death, but you'll end up with just a few of your friends playing on the server.

I don't like the game. I'll give it a bit more time for Epic to fix the mess of an alpha they released, but as far as I'm concerned I'll be sticking with 2k4.

UT3 is just crap. I have it (didn't buy it ;)) and never play it. Lack of graphics options, sluggish movement, same old weapons, crappy colors... the list goes on.

Gears turned into a shitty console port, UT3 feels like 2k4 in the Gears engine (I know it's the Unreal engine, but UT3 sure as hell looks like they ripped 90% of the textures from Gears...)

Or maybe Crysis just makes me expect more from my games...
