I think that's all the time I have for now. Humpty Dumpty still requires a fair bit of attention. Though it looks like we are through the worst of it. At least until they decide on further surgeries or amputation. Then we get to start the healing process all over again. Hopefully they can just put Humpty together again with surgeries though, and use smaller incisions that will heal faster and have less chance of infection. Having your limbs smashed off with steel plates is super messy.

Humpty Dumpty is a pseudonym I'm using for a family member. They have been blow up, shot, stabbed, run over, survived aircraft crashes etc... and most recently a limb severed by crushing. The doctors spent almost 7 hours just piecing the soft tissue together. It has been about 6 weeks of recovery now, and they still haven't decided if the limb will be viable or need to be amputated. Going in for more soft tissue surgery mid next week, if that finally heals and does it's thing then they will do the bone replacement/reconstructions and such. What made this injury even more complicated was that this limb had previous serious injuries and was held together with bolts and pins which were crushed and some even came out along with bones as a result of the injury.

I have been staying with and caring for Humpty Dumpty since the injury. In fact I was there when it happened and was the one who got Humpty scooped up, even used my belt as a tourniquet. Good thing, because even with that they estimated 5 pints of blood loss.
